Look what the Canadiens did when they got pushed around. Now they're charging a lot more for power than VY offered the state and scumlin's OK with that. I wonder what kind of lawsuits will come about when Entergy takes the state to court...

Will the Reformer or Topix enforce standards against name calling? Does it help the conversation in the slightest to allow people who hide their own names - like "Hovermont" here - put up posts whose entire point is to call someone else a name?

Now to the article. It's spectacularly uninformative. It could have, at minimum, given the relative outputs of the two dams. It claims the settlement on the NH dam "has officials in Rockingham thinking," but then doesn't demonstrate, in interviewing Ms. Roberts, that this has her thinking anything in particular beyond that the town needs to proceed with care. Having talked to town officials myself about this, I can assure everyone that proceeding with care has been the policy all along. So I guess the NH settlement has them thinking the same as they thought before it?

In that case the premise of the article falls apart.

Whit if they are proceeding with care, then why did the Select board go with the #126,000,000.00 value?

This is not responsible at all. We will be paying back money also. They should of left the value at $90,000,000.00 until the state was done. This would of gave us a base line.

The selectman know better then this. I hope for taxpayers sake they didn't make thew wrong choice here.

Camilla is right if Trans Canada goes up ,everyone else should to.Lets put it to the residents!!

Whit ask your self ,where does all the tax money go.Trans Canada pays over 40% of our taxes and we don't have any thing to show for it. We can't even afford a new rec center. Yet our Select Board authorized the old one to be torn down.

This is the same as our wasteful Government, which your so fondly of Whit.

I rather suspect that TC knows the value is going to be even higher than the figure now and the selectboard will settle on the value as it now sits at 126 million.

While I supported the original agreement hindsight now shows that the taxpayers took the hit on their taxes when TC got lower taxes for 4 years.

The village should have a say in this with the town if they really want to work together.
