Officers responding observed intoxicated people at the bar. Intoxicated people at a bar? Who would have thought it. Isn't that the purpose of going to a bar?

The bar is awesome--unlike no other i the area. Check it out on Thursdays for Lobsterfest. Crabby Westford residents need not show up. No more drunk drivers please--get a ride and leave your car overnight.

When you purchase a home near a bar you SHOULD EXPECT LATE NIGHT NOISE.

Actually, bars are required by law to shut off people who are obviously intoxicated. It isn't enforced much in Massachusetts, except by civil suits that come when one of the drunks kills or injures an innocent person on the way home. Other states take it a lot more seriously. In Texas, for example, undercover agents from the alcohol control authority actually do enforce it. It is a crime there to be drunk in public, even in a bar, and alcohol control agents can and do arrest drunken patrons for public intoxication, and then cite the bar owner and bartender for serving visibly intoxicated persons. And the penalty is no slap on the wrist, like it is in MA.

Unfortunatley this bar is being ruined by all the "outsiders" from Greater Lowell that are drinking here. When it was just Westford people this was a safe and nice bar to drink at. I went last Saturday and a prostitute from Lowell was offering her services for free drinks. Also, I spotted a bunch of kids from Dracut smoking crack near the woods.

When they check people's ID's at the door if their residence is not Westford they should not be allowed in.

The bar just opened last year and it is all the rookies out their that do not know how to drink, that cause the problems. If your going to be an ass when you drink stay home.

The money quote of the year. This should retire the trophy for ultimate NIMBY. Why not just set up roadblocks to keep the riff-raff out of your town entirely?

I agree, fellow Westford Resident. All these laborers from outside towns come and ruin it for all of the Westfordians just looking to enjoy a martini, or even a bottle of Fiji water for those responsible enough to be designated driver for the night. The Littleton, Lowell, Chelmsford, Acton trash show up and think they run the show, drinking Budweiser and being loud. Then they hop in their beat up pick-ups and drunk drive it home to their inbred families.

Doesn't say Westford on your driver's license? Tough luck, head to your local VFW ya low-life scum.

So you went up to the prostitute and the gang of crack smoking kids and asked them where they were from? That is belivable.

I live in Westford, but about as far away from the ski hill as you can get and still be in town. So, I'm not personally affected by this.

I do have some sympathy for the neighbors, however. I've been to the Tiki Bar and the bands are loud. How much can be heard from houses on Powers Road, I can't say. The police should go check it out and make a determination whether it is a reasonable amount of noise or not. Some people go to bed at 10pm, not because they are sticks in the mud, but because they have to get up very early for work. Limiting the band's hours on weeknights if it is loud at the houses would be reasonable.

These folks bought their houses near a ski hill that had an inside restaurant and bar. Traffic, lights at night, etc...were to be expected, really loud bands outside were not.

The intoxication is, IMO, a bigger concern. I left at 8:45pm when I was there because I was there with kids. Early on, the crowd on a Friday night was mostly families and some middle-aged couples. The crowd streaming in as I was leaving, however, was much younger and rowdier. I could see how that atmosphere, fun as it is, could get out of control. There were also lots of out of state plates in the parking lot, so many people were clearly intending to drive home.

I'm not against having fun, and this is a pretty cool and unique setup. Managing the level of intoxication and rowdiness would be in the best interests of the ski hill. They've got a good thing going here, this could provide substantial revenue for them in lean snow years...I hope some out of control patrons aren't allowed to ruin it for Nashoba Valley or those of us who would like to enjoy the property responsibly.

Oh No!!! Dougie Deschenes is their lawyer? He's the Ambulance chaser that works for Newport Materials ,right?

I agree with the neighbors complaints. This is "new" operation that obviously is not being controlled.

The BoS will sit on their collective hands having meetings, and consulting with town counsel before anything is done.
