Power to the farmers. Without them, we don't eat. Support your local farmers . Buy locally grown produce. It would really stink to lose any more of our local farms.

Farmers work hard for the money and the food is generally better than supermarket food. That said, the cost is making buying local produce prohibitive. It's really hard to part with $3.60 for 6 ears of corn when a supermarket is selling it for $1.99 per dozen. Tomatoes were selling for more than meat at local farmstands. I can put in a few tomato plants and a couple of cucumber plants for a few dollars and have all I can eat each summer. Geez, I usually end up giving half of it away. I love the farm stands, just can't justify paying the prices.

The problem with taxes is not just something farmers face. Until we toss out the spend-and-spend-and-spend people in the state legislature and in the goobernators office, life here in Massghanistan will continue to deteriorate.
