re: Selectman Carolyn McCreary explained department heads have been asked to provide vehicle inventories as the town takes its first steps toward complying with the state's Green Communities Act. The push is to reduce the town's energy consumption by 20 percent.

Ok, how about better planning 1st?
The town should have built a combined police and fire station. This would result in energy savings as well as free up land for business use.

The transfer facility should have been built on Bishop road instead of at the old dump. This would result in a reduction of needed equipment.

The downtown lights should utilize reflective light (downward) requiring less lighting. How much light pollution does Ayer emit?

Lastly the T station if built on West Main will save a lot of money as well as energy.

This is just a start. Ms. McCreary, plan smart before you reinvent.

Why do we need to pay them anything? If there is a profit involved then they should be able to find savings for the town and profit form it not the audit.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Capricorn

You're feeling edgy as Mars moves into reverse, and it won't be long before people start to get on your nerves. You might get very irritated by someone's funny little habits, yet feel you daren't say anything in case you go overboard. Or you could get very annoyed when someone blurts out something that was supposed to be a secret but which quickly becomes common knowledge.
