She was on the School Committee when he got here, then got hired to work in the schools. His trangressions are extremely unprofessional and this recent one should be the last straw. I agree: YOU'RE FIRED! I don't want to be paying the salary of a person like him.

I've worked with the bum for his entire tenure at G-D. He is let get away with this because the school committee is incompetent.
Smart Cookie is correct; this is going on.
If these tax payers got off the Prozac and took a minute to see what this budget is doing to the towns, he would be gone in a heart beat.

Wrap it up and move on. How typical. "No comment." The smartest thing he's done...keeping his mouth shut. Not sexual? Gimme a fr**** break. The guy's gotten too many passes. Boot him out with no raise, no dough, no recommendations. How long do you think he's going to stay around here once he's gone? His lady better be prepared.

Who is going to step up, take charge and rescue the school system? The SC is supposed to be a check on the Supt. not a bunch of sheep. Do something, guys. Where it is now is a reflection of who is at the top and his cronies in patronage jobs. Bring back the glory days of GDRSD!! Concerned Citizen is right on: Dump da bum!

Smart Cookie,

With a mascot called "The Crusaders" no one in Groton or Dunstable has any business complaining that someone may have said something to offend someone. The mascot is so offensive, a fact which escapes you, and the super. doesn't look so dumb by comparison.

First of Porky, the Crusaders you are referring to have absolutely nothing to do with any student or what any student represents at GD. Get over it.
Now...
The superintendent is a moron. Seriously, whoever hired this man must have been intoxicated. No one likes him. He has only come to our district for personal gain (both financially and in other terms). The remark he made, using a derogatory term to refer to a gay person is despicable. The only thing that would make parents, teachers, students, and all citizens of GD is his immediate departure. I personally believe that we're better off with no superintendent than with him.

Way to go, Ugh! I know that we are on the same page along with many, many in the two towns. We need a revolt.
Perhaps "Porky" wasn't aware of the
severity and insensitivity of the words that the Supt. uttered. There's no comparison to the mascot thing. THAT is old news and the issue was resolved. This incident can be construed as a federal offense, no? Add another "F" to the supt's report card.
Porky, I agree that the supt. is not dumb...when it comes to being manipulative and shady. People, open your eyes! Take off the blinders! Let's do as Gran Torino suggests: Dump da bum! I like that!

Right on. Get rid of him, Now! There is not a single teacher in the system who has a positive comment about AG.They are in the trenches and truly get it.

I agree! I am outraged by his comment, but not surprised by it. This isn't the first time he said or did something stupid and thanks to the school committee it wont be the last time. I'm cant believe the SC didn't recognize this as a big problem and take action to be sure it doesn't happen again. He is a huge liability to the towns. How much did this incident cost in lawyer fees? He should be taking "steps"- right out the door!

He has the school committee wrapped around his fingers. They view him as the President. He is quiet possibly the most destructive thing to ever hit GD. Honestly, this isn't an exaggeration, I have never met anyone who has anything positive to say about him.(Besides the School Committee--but lets face it, that's not changing! I love how he got a good review from them-ha!)

Get him out!

I also love how he hired two college aged students to work as secretaries at Prescott for the summer. The main secretaries in the district aren't allowed to work this summer due to the budget! I also love the fact that both of these students are both related to officials in the school district (think school committee!)-shocker.

What is it about Sch. Comms.? They knuckle under all of the time. They have no guts to make a stand and therefore are as guilty in every negative action taken that drags down the school system. The Supt. has, in four years, undone twenty years of excellence.

You've got it right. No resolution to the water problem at the HS (health issue); eliminating a successful elem. reading program; paralyzing the libraries by cutting staff.

The Supt. advertised for a person to "Co-ordinate
Curriculum/ITS/Professional Development/Libraries" with the following qualifications:
"Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure/certification in ONE OR MORE of the following areas:

Teacher
Principal/Assistant Principal
Library/Media Specialist
Instructional Technology
Director/Supervisor
Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent

What Superhero possesses all of these licenses? Each of these jobs have been and are full time in themselves. One or more of the areas will suffer and, at this point in time, it looks like the library department which has effectively been dismantled. The plan for parent volunteers to be managing the school libraries is a disaster waiting to happen. They are not dependable nor knowledgeable in library science. Also, from what I am told, an unlicensed librarian voids participation in the Central Mass. school library group.

There are more deficiencies but not enough space. Peace!

What gets me is that while this was
front page in this newspaper, the local rag (also published by this company) featured a fluffy pat on
the head, front page. Something legal?

One could only wish. The transgressions happening are so
much more insidious and less likely
to grab that kind of attention.
