If Anthony Hegstrom was so loved by his family, he should have never had a gun to use for a "lil gun play" in the first place. To use the words "lil gun play" is totally ignorant, there is no such thing and never has been, guns have always been a danger to anyone who misuses them. Sure some of the cops in Red Lake can be ridiculous at times, but they have families too. There are times many people need their help, probably members in your family too.

I served in the marine corps and have seen alot of shit in the world, I have been through every and any kind of training that there is. And what ever the case may be, if someone is coming at you with a weapon male,female, adult, kid, it don't matter they have that weapon for a reason, and if they are coming at you they obviosly intend to use it. All peace officers whether it be state or federal are trained in use of deadly force, not use of maybe I will try to wound them. Wake the fuck up people put yourself in that position. And another thing is, Red Lake in a whole has made a horrible name for themselves, and it is a damn shame that there are such a high percentage of fuckups up there that wreck it for the small percentage of good people there. There is a higher rate of crime per capita coming from Red Lake affecting all the surrounding areas than there is in any area state wide or maybe more spread out than that. You should all be thankful that there is no outside law, other wise it would be alot worse because frankly there is alot of shit that should be delt with from outside parties I am guessing, It would be good headlines if the sheriff's dept and the fbi had more control.

Heres a little advice for ya: If you dont want to deal with Bill White, dont break the law. If you dont want your loving family members to be shot and killed by the police, then leave the guns alone for a while. If you think you can shoot someone in the leg at the same time you think someone is trying to kill you, then leave the video games alone. Lastly, if you know how to be a cop and know what we should do, then APPLY! Otherwise, be quiet for a while and let the real men and women take care of the problems you created.

I can understand both sides of the issues but please get all correct info before making any judgements. I was a BIA officer and walked the Red Lake Beat almost 20 years ago. I remember the violence that occurred, "Indian on Indian" crimes.
If our family members are violent or have some type of alcohol/drug problems, our family must intervene to help him/her or more situation like this will occur.Police officers are trained to stop the situation from escalating, no matter where they are trained. Red Lake has beautiful environment and people. Let's keep it that way. HO-WA!

Its easy toplace blame on an Officer for shooting a person. You dont have have to stand there and decide in a split second if you are going to shoot or DIE! These punks had a lot of time to plan out what they were going to do that day. That Officer was lucky to be alive after that. He did his job like he was supposed to. Yes it was tragic that a man lost his life. But what was he doing shooting at houses anyways? No one asked that question did they ! All the blame was shifted towards top flight cop Bill White. I heard that guy was armed with an AK47. Who the hell drives around shooting at houses with an AK47.? Why do people even have to own those kinds of guns, they are for war and killing and nothing else.

They did: The guy charged after the cops with a fillet knife. Thats what happens to people that charge cops with a knife in their hand. What planet are you from?

Ummm.. apparantly you are unaware that if the officers shot this man in the leg as you are suggesting, there would have been more lawsuits...
It sucks a man's life was taken, but this is what Officers are trained to do. If you don't like it, and are as concerned as you let, on then go to school to improve their training in the field.
