May Anne Pressly R.I.P. This is why the Bible speaks specifically about spreading gossip. Prayer is needed not only for the victim, but for the attacker(s) as well. If good news traveled as fast as rumors, we would all live in a better world. May GOD bless us all!

This case is being held so tightly and seems so unlike a random robbery-turned-murder. It is very unsettling for those of us who are home alone in Little Rock to think that someone might just happen by our house and by sheer chance decide to rob and savagely massacre us like Anne Pressly was murdered. When someone who lives 100 miles away just happens to pick a small, plain non-affluent house in a city, and he goes in and does the things that were done to her... well, we either need to hear the truth or the rumors will run rampant. And Richard Slanger, apparently you want to turn this into a fevered racial blog... you need to focus on your neighborhood up there in Maryland. This does not concern you.

lit- You are exact with your remarks. While I understand there are things the public can not know, we should know something. Living blocks away and single F I cant believe this is random.
If JT is involved and its suspect at the least in my opinion, I am inclined to look harder at the spouse, it doesnt seem like a crime that a lover or ex lover would want to happen but more a statement from a spouse. I understand there is always the potential the alleged murderer was on drugs. I do not think this is racial, but what I do have a problem with is if races were switched
ACORN and everyone else would be all over LR, they should do the same now condeming this behavior.

Anyone who spreads, repeats, or perpetuates this rumor does the entire community a great disservice. Yes, truth will out -- but it will do so in the courtroom, not by a bunch of random know-nothing yahoos on an internet forum.
Anyone who claims "there's something more going on" or "we deserve to know the whole truth" needs to spend less time watching CSI and the Sci-Fi Channel. Or at least, put your tinfoil hats back on for a little bit. You're not trained detectives, you don't have access to firsthand information, and you only know what a boyfriend's sister's husband's cousin overheard at the hair salon.
And to everyone else who doesn't believe that this could possibly a random attack and that things like this never, ever occur... you're hopelessly deluded. S*** happens. Robberies go bad. People die because of split-second bad decisions. Angry and desperate people can do stupid things at the drop of a hat. Tragic murders like this are not without precedent.
Listen to the Rev (a few posts above this one)-- he's absolutely right about the evils of gossip. If you have any decency in you, you'll stop this despicable speculation and work to change your community for the better.

Right after this happen one of the news website mention 2 DNA's then the other night one of the news channels said there were only 1 person DNA. I think they're trying to cover that up, like they did when they said she wasnt stabbed. The other DNA they found was from the baby she was carrying, thats where JT name came into the story. Also, does anyone find it strange how calm the parents are? I know if I'd walked in on something like that of one of my kids, theres no way I could ever be on TV much less the Today Show talking about it calmly.

A woman tells FOX16 News she is convinced she saw and talked to Curtis Vance in the Heights neighborhood just three days before police say he attacked Anne Pressly in her home. It's an account that the Little Rock Police Department is not disputing.

Sounds like he was casing the Heights Neighborhood out by himself.

If Vance was hired to harm Anne, he would not be hanging out in the neighborhood before he attacked her. Maybe as the facts come out, these ridiculous rumors will die down

I think he was in the neighborhood making sure he was in the right place. This guy knew exactly what he was going to do, he just needed to make sure he was at the right place.

Um, its called an address and a street name or number, no need to go soliciting the neighborhood for "day labor", showing your face and your car.

What are the odds that Vance picked out the only house close in that neighborhood that had only one person living in the home and it happened to be a person of high profile?
It sounds like he "staked" out the school teacher's neighborhood in his previous rape charge.
If what that witness says is true...that he wanted a job cleaning the gutters...(which no way was he there to clean gutters)...then did he want to be able to "scope out" Anne's home...that he knew who lived there in the first place??

and to add to my previous post....Did he happen to see Anne (maybe walking her dog or something) while he was in the neighborhood and went to that house (if witness is correct) while asking about cleaning the gutters?
Did he just pick a house that had one vehicle in the driveway or did he know beforehand that only one person lived in that home so he came back at night.
Something just isn't right with this...I for one do not see the "randomness".

We might not ever know the reason behind any of this, but once Jermain Taylor name was involved, theres a gag order. I hate what happen to this girl, I have a 26 year old daughter and when this happen I was scared for her living in Little Rock alone. I just cant believe how calm her parents are, shock maybe, I dont know, but I do know if anything like that happen to mine, theres no way I could speak without tears or some kind of emotion, and I do know I wouldnt be going from talk show to talk show talking about this like it was the neighbor's kid.
This whole story is messed up. The one thing we do know, there's a man in jail, and a beautiful young girl that was just starting her life, in heaven, may she rest in peace.

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying they can't believe how "calm" her parents are about this whole situation. Don't you realize that people grieve in different ways???!

Vance had no trouble finding the woman in Marianna, who was white, blonde and single, living alone- you know the one he robbed and raped!? How is that different from coming into Anne's home?- both homes had no signs of forced entry.

He is familiar with Little Rock and everyone here knows that the Heights is an upscale part of town, where people's homes will have a lot of "goodies" in them (nice white women, items worth stealing, etc.)

Like I said before, a hired hit-man does not hang out in a neighborhood before he pounces- showing their face and their car... going to people's homes, asking for work- that is so unnecessary. He was casing the neighborhood then for a later strike on his on accord- no one else's.

Anne got off of work during the day, he may have seen her walking her dogs and watched her go back into her house, he may have watched her for a number of days.

He did the same thing at the Stiles' home in Marianna. Hanging out, checking out the scene, creeping through people's front and backyards....

Anne's car was parked in her carport when he attacked her, who knows how many times he drove up and down her street, perhaps even window-peeking as he did at the Stiles home in early November 08- where he was caught and let go by Marianna police.

Everyone should be so incredibly grateful that this monster is off of the streets because he has NO BOUNDARIES

The new word around town is that the rumors of JT's involvement were started by a couple of women who were angry after they unsuccessfully tried to sue him for sexual harrassment. Rumor has it they had no case and no complaint and were just after his money, so the case got tossed. They couldn't get his money, so now they're gunning for his good name.

Scary thing is, there are enough bums, chumps and racists out there who love to jump right on board with rumors like this and convince themselves it's true without an ounce of fact. People keep reminding everyone that a woman was murdered, how must her parents feel? Absolutely. But now, a man and his wife are being wrongly accused of being responsible for this sick and twisted crime. How must they and their families feel? How would you feel if someone started a false rumor that your daddy or momma did this?

Some people need to quit acting like fools. If Jermain or Erica did it, they'll get busted for it. There's no coverups for a boxer, only politicians and the like. It's just a shame how quickly people are willing to hate on someone who puts Arkansas on the map. How many other people are out there proclaiming their love for Little Rock on national television?
