Another depressed wannabe goth rocker chick feeling sorry for herself and her fame? No thanks-we've got enough of those already around, and can't seem to get rid of them.I don't think she is any different than anyone else..She plays boring music for boring people..Perfect tunes for mopey teenagers who haven't discovered punk rock and frat party hook-up songs.

Not one time has she ever stated she felt sorry or depressed courtesy of her fame or music nor has she ever said she was different from other people (excepting her wonderful voice, fantastic looks and the passion with which she sings).

She has gone through crap just like a lot of people, but has come out the better for it.

These tunes are perfect, but I am not mopey, a teenager, and not much for frat parties.

I just went to the concert last night and I can say unequivicolly that was one of the best concerts I have ever seen, albeit shorter than I expected.

I am sorry you don't like them, but life takes all kinds :)

wow ok? i guess you haven't experienced the imagery and beauty in her music... that sucks for you... i don't know why any "mopey teenager" would want to listen to senseless "punk rock" because you don't get anything out of it... does any of it mean anything?

it's pretty funny how the people who "hate" Evanescence go to their forums and post. I find it somewhat comical that you all would take time out to look for a forum just to say that...haha <--still laughing. man some people are lame. and they obviously don't know what good music sounds like either...hmmm...

Actually, Evanescence fans are made up of two main groups. The "mopey teenagers" you've disparage in your comments and the second group made up of the older Queensryche/Operation:Mindcrim e and Pink Floyd/Darkside of the Moon fans. If you have ever listened to those albums, you'd realize why we would like a band like Evanescence. In the cases of Evanescenc and Queesnryche, both have incredible singers whose voices approach those of operatic singers without going over the top like some other bands that people like you often compare them to. Plus they incorporate other genres of music such as classical and choral arrangements which gives them a richer, multilayered sound.

And being that I'm older than you are, I've listened to real Punk bands such as the Ramones and The Sex Pistols and not the commercialized pop punk being put out by the likes of Green Day. The so called wannabe punk bands of today would get their asses kicked by these bands if they were still around because they've watered the sound down so much, it's become meaningless drivel.

BEING AN OLDER FAN I JUST WANTED TO SAY I DONT' BELIEVE SHE FEELS SORRY FOR HERSELF. YOU APPERENTLY DON'T KNOW WHAT A GOD GIVEN TALENT IS TO BE ABLE TO TAKE YOUR EMOTIONS AND EXSPRESS THEM THROUGH SONG IN A WAY THAT GIVES PEOPLE THE CHILLS IS AMAZEING. SHE HAS ONE OF THE MOST HEARTFELT VOICES I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE.

I don't think Amy is feeling sorry for herself. She herself has said her writiing about all the bad things that happen in her life is her form of therapy and that she has never been happier. But bad things still happen even to the rich and successful. Just look at what has happened to her between the ending of the Fallen tour and the release of TOD. She had to fire her manager for spending her money on his mistress and being a total perv who then sued her because he lost his meal ticket. Terry, her lead guitarist and now main songwriting partner, has a stroke. She broke up with her boyfriend of two years because of he had substance abuse issues. She had a stalker who made her afraid to sleep in her own home. And to top it off, a coyote ate her cat. I don't know about you, but I would get a little bummed out about it if those things happened to me. And she wrote some great songs because of them.

Besides, who wants to hear about how happy someone is. If I wanted that, I'd listen to that stupid purple dinosaur.

All of these facts can be found in several interviews done before the album was released
