The real story is that the hospital in Clinton never released the guy to Southern, therefore they could not transport him anywhere else.. It is called kidnapping if they did. He was never stable enough to transfer to Little Rock.. The kind of injury he had is just not survivable no matter what hospital you are in.

Uneducated people are going to cost the people of Van Buren county an ambulance service that truely cares... We are probably going to end up with someone who only cares about money not the citizens that they take care of.

They never killed a guy the hospital did!! The hospital has to give the ambulance company permission to transfer a person out of there and they never gave that permission the ambulance was at the hospital for over four hours waiting on them to release the patient to them!
The hospital couldnt release a person with a head injury with no one to transport. As bad as all else was that evening at least the hospital didnt release someone who had no ambulance to transport them.

If the slime ball that owns the ambulance service would have had a required back up plan in place all this possibly could have been prevented.... and it goes on and on........

The owner of the ambulance is paid big $'s by the stae for trama patient transfer and they didnt even have their proper paperwork and backup plans in place. But they sure tool the money for being part of the trama system.

Van Buren County will be better off when Souther Ambulance Service is gone.

That may not be true. The officers with Clinton police department interview Brett at the hospital and he was conscious. They reported they would let him get some rest and finish the interview the next day. Sure sounds like if there would have been a responsible ambulance service provider there could have easily been transport.

If only people were educated enough to know how a brain bleed works.... You can be conscious for hours, even days with a bleed... But then all of a sudden, the pressure on the brain becomes too much to handle, and you die. Southern had a ambulance at the hospital, long before the patient passed away.. They were told they were not needed... After the patient suddenly got bad several hours later, then the hospital DID NOT, not could not release the patient... People need to stop letting emotion run the way they think, and use common sense!!!

I agree emotion will not help the need for a better ambulance service in Van Buren County. I am also not a doctor. But I do know that Southern had no ambulance to transport when called and had NO agreement for a backup plan. Everyone knows a head injury can NOT be treated in Clinton Arkansas. Brett would have had a chance, CHANCE , if immediate transport was made. I am not going to blame a hospital that isnt staffed to treat head trama. Also I feel bad for the employees of the ambulance service because i feel they do their job and are trained pros at what they do. But the owner of Souther Ambulance Service has told so many lies to cover up other lies about his agreements for backup and paperwork the state has lost and so on and so on I wouldnt trust him for anything.

You need to check your facts because southern had a truck available and it was at the hospital ready to transport Brett but by the time the hospital called southern he was to unstable to transport!

Fact is that even though everyone wants to blame the ambulance, the hospital did not even do a CT scan for over 2 hours... If they had, then maybe going to a better hospital would have been a option. It was assumed that he only had a concussion, and they were planning on sending him home

I knew Brett on a personal level. He deserved better. He had a brain bleed. But they're was a window of 3-4 hours when Southern could've transported him, but the hospital didn't release him. I think that our hospital is just as liable, eventhough Southern needed a plan for this situation. Brett would still be here if he had been transported to a level 1 trauma center. The billboards for our hospital being able to treat strokes is laughable. They are just there to triage snakebites, farm accidents, and bad fevers. All they do is patch you up and send you to Little Rock. I know if I hit my head, I will just drive to Little Rock!

Nobody on this site seems to understand that no matter if he had gone to Little Rock or not, he would still be dead.... Look at the other guy in Clinton that hit his head. He was flown to Little Rock and still died, with less damage done.

I'm kinda wondering why no one made a big deal out of his death??? Because he was gay?? Or because he wasn't a lawyer?

Probably because he was gay. I know many women that were saddened because they had to switch hairdressers. That's about it.

not trying to use the "gay" card at all just saying he and Brett were of the same importance not one above the other so why make a big deal of Brett dying and not Robbie!?
