Once again, another thread has to be directed back on track. The other posters were right on target. The food was awful (especially for the price), drinks pricey, the speakers rather mediocre (except Buddy, he was good), no auction, and it was not as well attended as past ones. All in all, a pretty piss poor effort put forth by whoever is in charge of this. Well, lets hope it gets improved next year.
Banquet food at a fund-raiser was ... disappointing? Orly? It was a fund-raiser, you dolt! The food is supposed to suck!
I suppose you could do

Better? Rather than "hope it gets improved next year" why don't you do something about it! Vile posters like you prefer to bitch and moan yet I'm sure you sat on your large bottom doing absolutely nothing to help out at the event. You are so sure of yourself so why don't you organize it next year? When you do, I will come here on Topix and complain about what a "piss poor" job you did!

All in all, I thought the event went well and you need to grow up!

Drinks are expensive there? That is truly laughable. You people seriously need to take a ride down the thruway ,in either direction, and see the world out there.

I attended this event and was actually surprised at how nice everything was. I don't know who started spreading lies on this thread but whoever it is should be shunned by all of us.

really!!?? Soooo....where do you eat otherwise if this was the best meal you ate I years? I feel sorry for you. Chicken, pasta, potatoes, rolls, salad for $35. Oh, and cake. For $10 more 2 could have eaten at a nice local restaurant.

Who set the price of the ticket? Sounds like the DD set the price to cover the cost of the entire event and some more.

a lot more. The dinner probably cost $5.00/ person at the VERY most, including cake and cold coffee. All food served was inexpensive to purchase/cook/serve.

Inexpensive...unless of course you count all the people who were working that needed to get paid?

Let me guess...next we will be asked to believe that they all work for free.

It was a profit maker for the Diamond Dogs. That is why they maximized with the low quality food. Lad was paid $10 a head.

The Italian vets are one of the "popular" non-profits that can do ANYTHING and never get the city on their case. I wonder why? Oh ... snap ... maybe because Peters is an Italian vet?

The attack on the YMCA, the Hospital and those churches was always about revenge and personal vendetta, it was never about public policy. Hypocrisy and corruption are the signature qualities of the Peters administration.
