I've said it once and I'll say it again. This City's native population has real insecurity issues. Since many of your lives are miserable failures, you rejoice when someone else fails.

And the natives are too stupid to see that this brings down life here for all of us.

Yokelism is spreading like a cancer in this town.

Contact the NYS Dept. of Labor if you have not been paid in 14 days after you logged the hours.
It's the law. There is an agency staffed to handle your claim.

The boss can hold back 14 days though, and many do.
If you're going to trash a place, or make any threats, well, you can land in jail.

The labor board won't put anyone in jail, but they'll even withold a tax refund to get you your pay.

I disagree with this for the most part. People would like to see businesses succeed here. But, there has to be a market for what you are selling as well. If the market you are getting into is already pretty saturated, i.e. food and drink, you better be exceptional. If your product service is exceptional, your help is professional and attentive and people have a need for what you are selling you will succeed. You can use the term yokel all you want, and there are people that fit the description, but you're kidding yourself if you think that why a lot of businesses fail here.

I didn't say that's why businesses fail, though it can't help, and I stand by everything I said. It's a town full of short sighted yokels.

It's why the City in general is failing. Not only short-sighted, but refusing to look at even the simplest inconvient things. For example, all the hand-wringing about how Canal Days was so poorly attended, and what sorts of new events are needed, when the simple fact is that you need to clean up the City for a major festival.

Decent people clean up their homes before they have people over for a dinner party, and decent towns spruce themselves up before a festival.

Only Yokels party amidst their own garbage.

It's funny that you have tons to say about people here, yet, you're as "yokel" as the rest of them hiding behind a screen name. Bravo to Fraser, it takes a real man to put your REAL name and picture up and take accountability for the things you're writing on this site. Anyone can hide behing a screen name and cut others down. It's quite hilarious. I don't usually post, I have designated myself as the topix police, reporting every thread that makes personal attacks on people and getting them out of here because I find it so sad that people have resorted to this kind of bullying in life.

To be fair, the post did not make a "personal attack." Your post is actually more personal than the one by "yokelism." He/she made a general statement about the people who live here, not one person.

Location Location Location...the reality of why so many business fail in Little Falls is because of the location (Little Falls) You can't start a business in a city of 4500 people, and expect those people to support the business, when in reality they can barely support themselves.

Sorry to hear that the business closed. Not good for the community nor the individuals employed by the establishment.I suspect the handwriting was on the wall. As a former resident visiting LF during Canal Days celebration I patronized the bar on three or four occasions. Briefly got to know Albert. He was most enthusiastic and appeared committed to making a go of the business. Also seemed like a nice individual trying to get his life together. While there heard very negative comments from other patrons regarding ownership. Also wispers and concerns regarding payment/nonpayment of employees. Albert was an employee with "dreams" of making a success of an opportunity percieved as being presented to him. Rather you like or dislike him or his family, there must be extreme disappointment for him at having the rug pulled out from under him. Does anyone know how he's doing? The two ladies that worked the bar,Naomi and Shelby appeared as hard-working individuals. If you are an employee that that has not been paid wages due then I urge each of you to follow the correct advice of post#23 by Labor Board. An employer not compensating employees earned wages is the lowest form of human behavior. I wish each of you who may have incurred unjust treatment fair compensation and good wishes going forward
