Ted Wind's letter to the editor

Have you read today's paper? Ted Wind supports raises for the county employees. Awe..he feels sorry for them. Thinks that a 2% raise is an insult. His letter is ridiculous. He says the poor folks haven't gotten anything in two years and they work full time. He compares it to the legislators who work part-time and get free health insurance. Is he senile? Doesn't he know that we didn't get anything in our social security? He probably got plenty in his pension. He doesn't like that part-timers are getting health insurance..didn't he vote to give it to the guys when he was there. The raise goes to part-time people too. He should ask the other Little Falls favorite son Malone why he gets $75 thousand and free health insurance. Didn't Wind read the article Mrs. Rose wrote. The health insurance went up thousands and non union all get it for free. Isn't that a raise. My insurance went up and my social security didn't. The union people don't get that and they didn't get a raise either. Lifetime FREE benefits go to all the none union. Wind must have a short memory or he is getting it too. Is he campaigning for re-election, well not with my vote.

But Windy, I bet you think you deserve a raise right?

Yes, they need a raise.
Rose would not have made it an issue except she isn't allowed to speak. The Rules require her to get signed petitions just to bring an issue to the floor for discussion. She just needed an issue, if not raises, it would have been something else.

I signed one of her petitions, not because I had an opinion but because I could see she was being marginalized in a very mean fashion by the Majority, who conveniently gets to make the Rules.

I did find her to be quite alarming. I'm glad I don't have to work with. I could see how she may not play well with others. However that is no reason to single her out for abuse. It's not fair to her, and it's not fair to the very important community she represents-Herkimer.

The Legislature could get so much more done if only they'd adopt a zero-based budget and learn how to collaborate.

Yeah they need a raise. So do we. Needing it is not reason enough to get it. I signed the petition too. I found Rose to be pretty clear why she backed the group doing the petition. Wind is indeed windy. He was our legislator, what did he do when he sat there? I don't think Rose needs a petition to speak. The law gave us the right to get the petition and vote on the raises. Too bad there were too many people that didn't sign right. Zero based budgets are a good idea but you won't see that in the county or here in the city. It is all a shell game. Ishmael why don't you run. Maybe you can help Rose make a difference for us.

Windbagger. Just keep spending our tax dollars on do nothing crooks. Some of these people are as corrupt as the day is long. They should sacrifice a raise for every year it has taken them to figure this jail situation out.Better yet they should be stepping down, some of these cronies are older than dirt. They are slow, inconsistant, and not capable of making rational decisions.

I think that the workers that make under 40 grand a year should all get raises because they are the ones that actually do the work. No raises for management or those making over 40 grand.

I'd vote for ANYONE other than Wind.
He did nothing other than screw the city. It's time this city wakes up. It can't even take care of the property it has and on top of that it has how many thousands of acres most residents don't even know exists and is used for what?
Make a campgound in the southern Adirondacks for God sakes!!!

I'd agree with NotWindy about the watershed lands.
[Last I heard... 5200 acres... 8.5 square miles.]
People don't know about them.
Perhaps they could be put to better use...
WITHOUT damaging the city's water quality.

Where are the "watershed acres?" Just curious...

[ps---Windy City not to be confused with the above posters ("Windy/Not Windy" etc). Whole different play on words and frame of reference....].

Most are up the Jerseyfield Road off of Curtis Road in Salisbury.
What beautiful primative campgrounds there could be and be used to generate some $$. Yes it can happen even without damaging the city's water supply
