This is no time to hide. You can lead in the healing of this city. This is Bobby's half-baked and vindictive cause and his alone. Let him own it all by himself.

I'd like to see the YMCA get a new remodeling. One post in Lf is coming back claims there are many rich people in LF. Lmao more like well off. But I grew up using the YMCA and value what it brings to the community. I'm only a middle classer but if I had the funds I would donate to it. Nobody who originated in Lf seems to the truly care or you'd hear about donations. People donate more to the colleges they graduated from. Why wouldn't people want to give to a city that helped make them. Just asking

Vote NO to this stupid idea to create a new position to hire someone to do a job the County is already contracted to do cheaper.

Say NO to Bobby playing favorites and making jobs for his friends.

Say NO to this idiotic campaign to harass the YMCA and our other non-profits, which do so MUCH for the city!

Say no to Bobby playing favorites but yes to you playing favorites? Interesting argument. The people behind the firing (the friends of the Y) had the very same option everyone has in this country, which is to take legal action to defend themselves. They did this. But to the turn around and underhandedly get this woman fired wasn't right. The courts will decide who is right and wrong. What you people did is how people handle legal matters in dictatorships and 3rd world countries. If you're in the right, why the move to get her fired?

I agree. Vote no. We should not make a new job for a political favorite in this day of tight budgets.

The only job I know Bobby hired a friend for was the codes enforcer. Who has the easiest job ever because he does nothing but take breaks. If you live in LF you know who he is

Interesting how LF folk vilify the mayor, yet the good ole boys club in Herkimer have been playing dirty for decades.
Because they are dirty we should be also? Two wrongs don't make it right.
If the city wants to hire a city assessor then follow standard hiring practice advertise, interview and pick the most qualify person.

Isn't one of those council people smart enough to have tabled the vote tonight so it could have been moved to a larger location?

Grassley tried. Bobby steamrolled him. I thought he was mayor, not dictator. And for anyone who cares, the meeting was a blatant violation of NYS open meetings laws.

103. Open meetings and executive sessions.

(d) Public bodies shall make or cause to be made all reasonable efforts to ensure that meetings are held in an appropriate facility which can adequately accommodate members of the public who wish to attend such meetings.

http://www.dos.ny.gov/coog/openmeetlaw.html

There was no accommodations for people; people were standing down the stairs, plenty of people couldn't hear. Bobby was asked if the meeting could be moved or postponed so everyone could be able to see and hear everything. He rudely refused.

Jeff did not move to table immediatly and did not have a second from the floor.
If he had the mayor could have stopped it

I believe he asked that it be tabled, and the mayor had no intention of stopping it.

The mayor has no choice but to table when a motion on the floor has a second from another aldermen.
Discussion is over until it's brought back to the floor again.

Well, I've sent off a long letter to Mr. Freeman at the State Committee on Open Government. But the more the merrier. The behavior of the Mayor tonight was rude, insulting and definitely illegal.

Our Mayor's behavior tonight was simply disgusting. He is a rude man. I had never been to one of these meetings before and I was shocked. Looks like he always gets his way, though I was impressed with the councilman who tried to bring up good points.

I had no idea our Mayor was this bad. Wow. I am going to have to get more involved.

Well then that was a pretty poor effort by those in opposition; out of the other three "no" votes (and everyone had to know this was passing if it came to a vote), not one of them had the sense to second the motion tabling it? This is how Bobby gets his way, poor coordination among the opposition. It's certainly not by sheer brainpower.

This town is doomed. I knew I should have voted for Mike.
