An Oregon man accidentally shot his girlfriend's daughter dead as he practiced holstering a gun for his new job, police said.

Joseph Wolters, 32, was inside their Oregon City home at 5 p.m. Monday learning how to clip and unclip the weapon for his new role at an armored transport company when it went off.

The bullet somehow traveled outside — tragically hitting 9-year-old Shayla Shonneker as she played in the yard.

CNN: Pressure Cooker Bomb 'Right-Wing' Signature

An article published on CNN's website makes an unproven claim that pressure cooker bombs like the ones used at the Boston Marathon terror attack are a "signature" of "right-wing extremists."

I find it hard to believe that someone could kill someone else with a gun! I mean, where were the police? We don't need our own weapons, we can just call the cops! Just ask the folks in Newtown!

A pressure cooker takes 3 lives! When will we ban them? We should at least make them smaller. I mean that crackpot could obviously hold a lot of bbs and nails. Who needs one that big? YOu don't need it for cooking.

Much more registration and regulations are most obviously needed in many areas, this should keep the Bloomberg types busy for a long long time....

You silly little menshevik, why don't you do some research on IED's before you post? See below...if you weren't into your 5th mimosa already this morning I'm sure you would have done the research yourself ;-)

"NATO’s Centre of Excellence Defence Against Terrorism (COE-DAT) reported 356 people were killed and 1,340 others were injured from 270 reported global IED, vehicle-borne IED (VBIED) or suicide attacks during March 2012. A further 340 people were killed and 869 were injured in 271 attacks in April 2012. In May 2012, 456 more people were killed and 1,460 were injured in 217 attacks. Combined, there were 758 IED incidents from March to May 2012 which killed 1,152 people and injured another 3,669."

As the world continues to destabilize, and the US continues down the path of a failed nation-state, I sadly predict that IED attacks / deaths in the US will rise exponentially and become as commonplace as gun deaths. God help us all but it is just too easy to build a bomb...much easier than it is to buy a gun.

Don't believe me? Just ask UTLT's idol and favorite Northwestern University professor Bernadine Dohrn or UTLT's idol Columbia University professor Kathy Boudin or lastly, UTLT's favorite retired idol University of Illinois professor Bill Ayers.

Sorry UTLT, you are tilting at windmills with your anti-gun argument. I know you mean well but please consider the effects and unintended consequences of further gun control.

Yeah, true! Too bad nobody in Boston was armed, they could have shot the bomb after it exploded!

Speaking of clowns, who in Watertown MA, cowering in their closets, clutching their children, doesn't wish they had a gun.

Idiot.

Or maybe they're not worried at all because the police are there to protect them! I'm sure they can protect everyone in the entire Boston metropolitan area with no problem!

Let's see...scrolling back...nope, never said we didn't have any laws about drunk driving. Thanks for the link, though.

Where's all the lib outrage about the numbers deaths related to alcohol? Especially deaths of children?

In 2010, 31% of all traffic deaths were alcohol related. Doesn't sound too effective to me! Seems like we needed better laws, no?

I guess you guys just don't care about our children.
