He's in. Nothing we can do.
unfortunately we're back to square one.
He's still illiterate by todays standards.
Everything is going digital. The DEC, for instance, doesn't even issue paper permits any longer, just digital copies. I suspect other state agencies he's tasked with communicating with are doing the same. Communicating on the net. Email-apps-spreadsheets-topix- PPt-online minutes-community newsletter-updating the City website, etc. Even Congressmen would rather get an email than some snail mail (because of security reasons).
He's still using smoke signals. Today there's an app for that. Now he has NO excuse.

What we can do is constantly make the point that we the majority are against him, and undermine his adminstration and make illegitimate his decisions. We cannot move ahead, but we can attempt to limit the damage and undermine the hare-brained schemes before they are even hatched. The very worst thing we could do would be to seem to acquiesce in an election in which he recieved only a minority of the votes. To do so would only encourage him to unleash more disasters.

Because he doesn't answer your emails you are assuming he doesn't use a computer? He gets emails everyday and reads them.

As far as the city communicating with the state it is done through emails and applications are filled out online. The Mayor would not be filling out applications, the departments would be.
The Congressman are not the ones typing the emails or reading them, their staff does. The emails the staff feels are important are then passed to them to read.
The website updates are the clerk's responsibility. She is a elected official and reports to the voters.

How is it possible that the golf course job went to the last person hired? over other who have worked there for years or all the other dpw workers? and he gets a free cell phone pd for and a raise that the mayor denies but the treasurer confirms? or if the city is so broke right now how can we afford to hire the mayors girlfriend? who by the way live in the water shed for free with all her bills paid and decided she no longer wanted to moew the lawn either so the mayor HIRED someone else to do that too!
The Golf Commission hires and fires anyone that works at the golf course. It has nothing to do with DPW. They also do the contract with salaries. The mayor does not have the authority to give someone anyone a raise. In this case it would have to be the Golf Commission. I highly doubt that was done since no one in the city got a raise in 2011.
Everyone of those DPW workers also have a cell phone paid for.

That's what doesn't work. That's not good for the rest of us.
Have a recall if you are that upset.
Until then, stay out of his way. He's got work to do.

Are you manic, Ishy? It seems that on alternate weeks you are a Peters supporter (a box of jock straps?), and on the other weeks you think he is the wrong man for the job? Make up your mind.

I can answer FOR the clerk!
Pick any one of these:
I don't want to...
It isn't my job...
I don't know how to...
I don't have time right now...
Ask him yourself...(then you won't need email)

Maybe they should publish the Mayor's email, so the Mayor can get to work and get hold of all those millions of dollars locked up in Nigerian bank accounts.

I understand that the inbox is filled to capacity, with 32,000 unanswered messages from 56 programmers still on airplane somewhere between Dubai and Little Falls. They are out of food and water, and desperately need permission to land.

Email them back. They can't land, but we can send up some water. The price is up 15%. We cannot fill their request for eggrolls.

Permission to land. They can land at the new parking lot at the corner of Garden and Second Street. Just be careful of the huge piles of asbestos laden rubble covering up the new parking lot.

Excellent plan. We pay their salaries and they spend at the local bar getting drunk every weekend! I just love that people vote based on who they party with instead of respectable deserved people! Love how they only speak to you when they want your vote....Users...how about some genuine residents that deserve these positions instead of party buddies? Pretty soon well have bunch of drunks at city hall as our employees. Yes our employees that is!
Park your vehicle on main street and walk down to ed/buds at 8am drink all morning and you won't get a ticket.Good fake out boys no one knows where you are!!

Thank you for clarification. It appears to be foreman and supervisors that have city paid phones.
Glad to hear that.

What exactly do you guys expect out of the mayor? The sad state of the city by and large has absolutely nothing to do with him or his decisions. Give the poor man a break. 3 grand a year to do a thankless full time job? Oh yah he is just doing it for the power. Get real.

<quoted text>
Manic? Hardly.
There are gray areas. Nothing is black/white, all or none.

"All or None" thinking is unhealthy and often a symptom of "issues".

See here:

Twisted Codependent Thinking

1. All or nothing.
Looking at things in absolute, black and white categories. "Either / or" thinking.

2. Overgeneralization:
Viewing a single negative event as a never-ending pattern of defeat. "Always" and "never" thinking.

3. Mental Filter:
Dwelling on one negative detail, so your vision of an entire situation becomes dark and cloudy, like a drop of ink that discolors an entire glass of water.

4. Self discount:
Insisting that your own positive qualities and accomplishments "don't count." Difficulty in accepting compliments.

5. Jumping to conclusion:
A.) Mind reading: you assume you know what someone else is thinking or feeling, and you react as if it were true.
B.) Fortune telling: you predict a future where things can't change or turn out badly. Creating your own soap opera.

6. Catastrophizing:
Blowing things out of proportion, shrinking your own importance. Role playing the "King or Queen of tragedy."
