Before Res.18 was passed the County contracted Assessor for the City of Little Falls was investigating the tax excempt status of properties and a business owned by the ymca. After approx 6 years as the Assessor, suddenly and shortly after renewing the contract with the city for assessor services the County reshuffles its resources and eliminates the postion of our then contracted Assessor. This was done while our contracted Assessor was involved with the City and the Y lawsuit. Did the County ever before eliminating that position contact our then County Contracted Assessor and instruct or inform that the efforts to tax the properties and business' should be dropped? That the entire enterprise is a waste of time or money because the properties were covered by the non profit status? If not then is it possible that the efforts had merit? Did anyone connected with constucting or drafting Res.18 communicate with anyone in the County Assessors office and give them a "heads up" on a Res. that would eliminate the efforts by having the City defund its defense from the Ys lawsuit thereby the Y would drop its suit? If so who talked to whom in the County? Is it not strange that a radical shift in personnel at the County level that may impact an ongoing lawsuit with a Contracting City wasnt communicated well before hand? Did the County have a responsibility to do so? It is true that the County offered to continue its services after the elimination of the position of our then Contracted Assessor. Does it seem curious that a postion is eliminated just a short time after a defense team was hired and the groundwork for a defense was being formed? Or could it all be a Co-incidence? What do you think?

The Y had a direct hand in getting Joy fired by the county. See here:

But actually, Dave, I am curious (not only about this but also about seeing you walking around with what appeared to be a walkman in 2013), haven't you voted on these issues several times and supposedly with finality? If you still had these questions, why did you not raise them during the course of the debate within the Common Council? It would seem to me that you should have either raised these issues and pressed for clarification or just leave them alone at this point.

Well it is not a walkman, I just do not like earbuds. And would you rather I not raise a concern at all? My earlier threads explains my conversion from the Collective to what the heck is going on here? And the last Council Meeting when I could not get a straight answer on who the lawyers where who "helped" draft a Resolution set me on my path to cut open what now seems to be a Gordion Knot of people, politicians, public employees, and attornies. Lets cut it open and see.

Dave if we had the same assessor for six years, why did this genius not raise the Y issue her first five years in the position ? Maybe you should use your uncanny investigative skills to solve that problem before accusing the county government of back room politics you and Peters are famous for.

Thank you WWW I did not realize I was "famous". And where is this back room that keeps being mentioned? Did I overtly accuse anyone in the County of anything improper? Or am I publicly asking questions on thier actions? I question the timing of the County personnel reshuffle just after the City renews its contract for an assessor service. And did the terminated employee recieve any kind of written reprimand for the YMCA assessments? And why not give the City notice of a pending reshuffle before the City spends money on lawyers, research, etc. Sounds and Smells like the "Red Herring" mentioned on the Floor of the Common Council last meeting.

Well infamous may be closer to the facts, and as usual you did not answer my question just restated the same mindless blabber we all have become accustomed to whenever you post.

I am going to stay on topic. Your question is another subject. However, when the questions I have asked get answers, remind me to answer your offtopic question. I will be sure to bombard you with blather, bamboozle you with blarney, baffle you with b.s., and numb you with nonsense, irritate you with information, and derange you with data, I promise.

So the county's sudden move is on topic, the assessors sudden move is off topic. In other words as always, the subjects that do not serve your point, or purpose are off topic or unimportant. Dave you are the lowest form of bottom feeders, you are a phony, and therefore unworthy of any further debate. I am not a local I've only lived here 28 years, in those 28 years I've learned a good many people in this city take a great deal of pride in being a local, a.k.a born here. I rather admire this in most of them, they are good people. You should shut up and listen for a while.

You used to wonder why we refused to elect Mayor Margie? Look no further than Judas-Style Burleson for the answer.

Both were newcomers. Both were, essentially, unknown to us when they appeared on the political scene, such as it is in Little Falls.

Margie went straight for the mayor's job, and we said "no, we don't know you well enough for that". Burleson went for an unopposed Council position, and got in. But now we know what a sociopath and loser he really is, and we will never again trust him.

If Margie had first run for Council, we could have gotten to know her, and trust her (or not).

As for why Peters got elected the second time, that is largely the fault of the fat man who is making Little Falls safe for Democrats by running the local GOP like a club for white-trash cronies.

I have been thinking on your question. I shall ask our Assessor and let you know. But let us think on this: Why would the County Assessors' office allow the reeval of the YMCAs properties if our contracted assessor was incorrect? Why wait at all? Does not the County have a supervisor? Would you have recontracted for services if you knew the County was going to restructure its office and terminate the one key person involved with the City of Little Falls defense of a lawsuit by the YMCA? That smells of backroom politics. It stinks like Mystery Lawyers and Red Herrings.

ME? Dispute something someone else posted? That's what we are here for! But I cannot find this post you mention from Serious Question.

All along I have been consistent in several meta-themes:

1.) Yes, given the way the non-profits have evolved over the past several decades all across America, it is probably time to re-examine the role of non-profits in the economy. But that needs to be done at the source of non-profit law, which is the State and Federal legislative bodies. Letting that happen in the local municipal governments, which are beset by incompetence and corruption such as here in Little Falls, is a recipe for creating a patchwork quilt of injustice and disaster.

2.) I have been horrified by the naked display of cronyism and incompetence manifested in the attacks on several local non-profits that are unpopular with insiders and friends of local Little Falls government, even as the local authorities turn a blind eye to the exact same issues with non-profits that they happen to like.

3.) I have been deeply interested in the way that the Common Council has stood up to the mayor, and is rewriting Little Falls politics in a new and slightly more democratic chapter (sullied a bit by the loathsome clown who started this thread, of course, but nothing in this life is perfect).

As for you, I must say you have disappointed me. The exact same complaints that you made against the YMCA can be leveled against other non-profits, such as the Post. And yet you are silent. That makes me question the purity of your motives and even your integrity.
