The porch roof on this home is being held up with 3 old 15ft boards and nothing else. They ripped off the whole porch about a month ago and left it this way. There are alot of young children on this upper half of Loomis st. That play near this home, and the way they left it is dangerous. I cringe every time I hear these kids out there, and try to tell them to stay away from there. But you know how kids are and seem to forget when they are playing. I wish the home owner would finish up what he has started soon, Before one of these kids get hurt.

To walk down the street, knock on the door and talk to the homeowner? Why post on Topix? Seems like you have an ulterior motive to me.

I cant walk down the street and knock on the door when nobody lives there. The house is in probate is all I can get from anybody around here. Don't think we haven't tried. We have also been told the house is full of mold!! Really nice for the 13 little kids that get off the school bus two houses up the street. I don't have an ulterior motive for your information I'm just concerned about the way they left this porch roof being held up by old looking two by fours that have been nailed together. We have called the code enforcer and as of today we have not been called back. Even though Phil drives by here on a daily basis. He had to see this house.

It isn't the job of our neighbors to enforce codes.

The house directly next door to the codes enforcer is in similar condition and has been for years.

I wouldn't hold your breath...unless you happen to be walking past it at the time.

The original poster said "I wish the home owner would finish up what he has started soon, Before one of these kids get hurt." To me it sounds like she knows the guy and is just busting his stones on this website. Neighborhood Mom said nothing about code enforcement nor that the home is in probate.

Now that we know these facts, her ulterior motive is to bust the stones of Phil the code enforcer and not to just complain about the condition of the house.

It's funny, she probably didn't say anything about codes enforcement because the very idea is alien to most people in this city. What is codes enforcement? And if the front porch of the house is about to fall off and it has been this way for years, it would seem perhaps that the codes enforcement officer should get his "stones busted". I mean God forbid we expect the guy to actually do his job, right?

Dear Neighborhood Mom,
I'm trying to help - here is a link to the form you need to fill out for the code inspector.

http://www.cityoflittlefalls.net/pdfs/CODES%2...

If the porch is truly a matter of public safety, then you should contact the Fire Department or the Police Department, you will find them on the City of Little Falls website under "Public Safety."

I have not driven by there but if it is as bad as you say it is, I know couldn't sleep at night knowing that that porch may fall down and hurt someone and all you did was gripe about it on Topix versus calling someone who's job it is to protect the safety of the public.

I didn't know the house was in probate until my neighbor just told me Monday. I don't know who owns the house , If I did I would have talked to him personally. I don't have it out for anybody. I'm not that kind of person. I wouldn't have come on here if I knew who to go to. Now that I have been helped by some of your quotes I really do appreciate it. Thank you!!

If the codes officer won't do anything about this or other issues in the city of Little Falls, then contact the State of New York housing or the Attorney General's office. They will either do something about it or they will direct you to who will.

Well, the State DEC refuses to do anything about the garbage and junk, the County Board of Elections refuses to do anything about obvious forgeries on nominating petitions, the Department of State refuses to do anything about not doing the Fire Safety Inspections. You can waste your time and effort finding this out for yourself, and then you'll realize that the Yokels running this place already knew about this long ago, and are just laughing at your efforts to try to clean things up around here.
