We, the City Council of the City of Little Falls, are pleased to announce an upgrade to the municipal golf course. This year, to better serve the golfing public, we are installing the Robert J. Peters Memorial Port-O-John along the 6th fairway. The outdoor toilette facility will provide tax-exempt service to golfers.

May not be tax exempt, wait until summer the accessor will examine the property and make a decision. Nobody is safe now. Somebody could drop change out of their pocket into the crapper. That may be considered showing a profit.

An apt metaphor for 544 Garden Street.

According to the Mayor Peters interview, the worst thing to come of this was that citizens in Little Falls learned they have the right to grieve their tax assessments. The man should be run out of town on a rail in tar and feathers for spewing such anti-democratic filth! Peters is more of the problem, not part of the solution!

That is exactly what happened. Mayor Peters is quoted in the Evening Times as saying:“An unfortunate consequence of this resolution is more people could decide to grieve their assessment. Those disputes could have a significant impact on the city’s coffers, as well as the services the city provides.”

Apparently, Peters wants Little Falls residents to think they do not have the right to disagree with City Hall.

How about we all start to grieve our assessments? That could really send a message to City Hall.

We can do that, but we will all have to sue, because the Assessors board simply rubber stamps the assessments and never allows a grievance claim.

They would rubber stamp it if 1,000 people came in and did it at the same time?

Since Little Falls steadfastly refuses to go with Real Market Assessements, despite a legal requirement to do so, it becomes virtually impossible to grieve any particular assessment.

You could protest your assessment and it could actually go UP. Be careful. A lot of people are paying a lot less than they really should be. Some are paying more, sure - but a lot are paying less.

She's making a list, she's checking it twice, she's gonna find out who's naughty and nice. The City has a list of 1000+ names, conveniently arranged on a single YMCA petition, of people whose taxes are definitely going up uP UP!

Revenge is sweet, and inevitable.

All the more reason why everyone needs to continue showing up at Common Council meetings and being very vocal in their support of the Y and in their opposition to Mayor Bob. We've already crossed the Rubicon. If we stop now, all one thousand of us will pay a severe price. United we stand, divided we will surely fall.

Let's not get too dramatic; this isn't exactly Stalingrad in WWII.
