Secession petitions are good PR but bad politics. There is a way for states to legally and politically secede from the American union but it must be a state-by-state process established by constitutional secession conventions in each state. Read: http://thedailybell.com/28286/Ron-Holland-Sec...

You are so wrong about Japan. I've been doing business there for years and it's obvious you don't know what you are talking about.
Really? What kind of business? You must be from the school that we aren't in a depression.
Maybe you should do an article to refute this:
"If five recessions in 15 years isn’t a record for a country, it has to be close, and that prospect is now facing Japan.

The world’s third-largest economy on Monday reported that its gross domestic product contracted 3.5% in the third quarter on an annual basis. Another contraction in the current quarter, which analysts widely expect will happen, would meet the technical definition of a recession."

To represent that an online petition has any meaning...
is beyond silly.

"Waaahh, the (white-r) guy we wanted didn't win the election. We're gonna secede."

Childish.

No one had more of a right to want to secede (or riot in the streets) than the citizenry during the Bush 8yr debacle.

Oh, it must have been about race. You guys love playing the race card.

Childish? Children are obsessed with colors, as are you.

A note for you, genius, these people do this when white guys get elected too.

You're nuts. How did he get into office in the first place? The white vote. It's not about race, he is as much a white man as he is a black man. Who backed and funded him? Rich powerful white men on wall street and soldiers hoping to end the illegal wars. People want to secede because the federal government has turned the country into a criminal nanny police state. The federal government is intentionally crashing this republic to bring you to your knees, that you will beg for their help, and accept any form of currency and tyranny. No one in their right mind to pine to Bush, he was the start of all this, but Barry LIED and pushed Bush and Cheney's agenda's. Where are all the lefty's who were protesting the wars now? Total silence. Oh. I'm sorry a small unauthorized group were arrested protesting at the DNC. Sound familiar ? http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/04...

Sorry, I enjoy a good debate but won't play with people who open with "you're nuts." That kind of vitriol is exactly what I see as a major problem in our national discourse.

Actually, PV, you called ME nuts. The people I said were childish were the (unnamed/anonymous) ones filing these petitions. Not you. I didn't direct that at anyone personally/directly, nor would I. As I stated above, I try hard to stay civil.

Oddly, folks from Georgia have filed twice. Even stranger, several of the petitions come from states that went for President Barack Obama."
