Uhh, you rejected a story outright because of its source. That's not a sign of a serious thinker.
When presented with evidence to the contrary, you accuse the poster of using platitudes. Also not a sign of a serious thinker.
Fail.
I don't associate thinking with loony right-wing websites, and go back to the post about platitudes and tell me I was referring to the Seattle Times story. Talk about a lack of serious thinking...

These loony websites (and they are loony) often get their story from some other source. Sometimes they twist it, sometimes they don't. A real thinker traces the story back to a reputable source or tries to trace it back and calls it false AFTER doing the research. My "platitude" is accurate. Instead of investigating it, you dismissed it, because of its source.

Secondly, I'll repeat what I said. I presented you with a legitimate news source that contradicted your position and all you did was accuse me of repeating a platitude. I didn't say you were referring to the ST story. In fact, I was pointing out that you didn't address the ST story...at all.

Fail.

Fail.
Speaking of failing, let's go back to what I actually said, and not what you're implying I said:
Richard M Nixon wrote:

Yes, I summarily ignored the Breitbart story. I will continue to summarily dismiss and ignore loony right-wing websites. At no time did I say "This story is 100% incorrect because it's on Breitbart.com ." Quite the opposite, in fact. And what I called a platitude was and is a platitude. I made no comment on the Seattle Times story.

So you can carry on with twisting my position and doing all the research you want on Breitbart stories. I really couldn't care less.

And by the way, you in no way, shape or form contradicted my position - kind of hard to do when I really didn't have one - and I didn't accuse you of repeating a platitude, I (accurately) called you out for using one. You have no idea what my politics are. For all you know I hold MoveOn.org and Michael Moore in the same low regard as Breitbart. In fact, I do. You know what they say about assumptions...

You summarily dismissed the story, period.

A platitude is a meaningless statement, my statement was not. I've already pointed out that you made no comment on the Times story. That's because it undercut your position. Kind of like what PV does when someone proves him wrong.

• Between 1988 and 2006–2010, the proportion of never-married teens aged 15–17 who had ever engaged in sexual intercourse declined from 37% to 27% among females, and from 50% to 28% among males. During the same period, among teens aged 18–19, that proportion declined from 73% to 63% among females, and 77% to 64% among males.[2]

In 2008, 5,864 15- to 20-year-old drivers were involved in fatal crashes – a 27-percent decrease from the 7,987 involved in 1998. Driver fatalities for this age group decreased by 20 percent between 1998 and 2008. For young males, driver fatalities decreased by 19 percent, compared with a 24-percent decrease for young females (Table 1).

I love the way you so easily and blithely insult.

You supply plenty of great information.

Kids OVERALL are doing good... that is great.
I'm not talking about 'on average'.
I'm not talking about 'overall'.

And I'm not betting my kid's life on it.

Here's how stupid I am:
I don't let my kids go to houses with pit-bulls.
OR... poisonous snakes.
OR... un-fenced swimming pools.
OR... pedophiles.
OR... Republicans.

You can with yours.

Hmmm. I was about to post a conciliatory reply, but alas, you insist on lying. I did not summarily dismiss the story:

Basically positive = pretty sure = relatively certain, etc.

This isn't "Willy", and I didn't lose. Your statement was indeed meaningless considering you have no idea what my politics are. I hold all sensationalist internet "media" in the same regard - which is to say I hold them in no regard whatsoever.

Secondly, the other portion of my first reply that you also willfully ignore is that I even emphasized that my regard for the Breitbart story wasn't the crux of my post. My point was that this is just another right-wing loony outburst about the coming end of the Republic, all because of a clause in a bill in the State of Washington that isn't even going to become law. But let's all get excited, let's all get scared and run around hysterically screaming about Obama and the end of the world, right? Let's all assume that if this had passed (which it won't) that tomorrow morning, a bunch of guys dressed in military fatigues will be on your front porch in Little Falls demanding all your weapons, right? Because after all, we don't have an independent judiciary that reviews the constitutionality of laws, right? Oh wait.

If getting yourself in a tizzy over something like this is what you choose to do, fine. Personally I'll just keep yawning.

Well, you had me thinking that at the very least you possessed sound judgment and maybe you were fair and sensible...now I see that besides being wrong most of the time (okay...dumb was a little strong) you just want to play petty politics. Why don't you and the Mr. Nixon poster (aka Willy) get together and see who can come up with the snarkiest anti-republican comment?

You and he do have something in common...you both want to argue about the menu on the Titanic versus fixing the problems we face today...stupid Liberals.

OH... you are so humorless.
I throw in one little bit... for humor...
and you take MAJOR offense... so sorry.

I am fair.
I am sensible.
I think we need fair and sensible gun regulations.
WHICH...
reduce the ability of crazies getting guns.
making sure weapons are secured... is one method.

According to the Washington This course of action as been pulled. Now just think how expensive this program would have been. Sheriffs would need more money to pay overtime to deputies to do these"inspections". Also people would have to be able to stay home from work, You know that thing adults do to pay taxes that pay for crap like this.It is and shall ever be a dumb idea.
