We have a City Attorney on salary. Why would defending these lawsuits cost anything extra?

Find something. It doesn't really matter. Point is, you simply aren't going to get anywhere without intelligent leadership at City Hall. That's the hard truth, and as constructive as it gets.
Actually it does matter. We don't prosecute people for crimes in this country because we don't like them.

So now we here that hiring will not be on the agenda Tuesday because the Mayor already broke the contract with the County and hired her! How much is this personal vendetta going to cost us!

Are you kidding? That is ridiculous. The whole Council needs to resign in shame for letting Peters and his city hall clown show run amok. Where are Rocco and Greg when you need them????

Why did the council approve those out of the city board members?
Isn't it suppose to beCity of LF residents only?
WHO is an out-o-city board member? Are we really allowing people who do not live here to run our town?

Impeach your Mayor. I know it's great fun having the village laughingstock as the Mayor, but it's kinda destructive. If you want intelligent and constructive things accomplished in City Hall, you need intelligent and constructive people in charge. Not such a difficult concept. Little Falls always wants their cake and to eat it, too. You elect an idiot to be the Mayor because it's funny, then you get all upset when idiot stuff comes out of City Hall. Sorry, you can't have it both ways.
I think that maybe the County should step in and take receivership of the City. Peters is clearly like Captain Queeq after loosing his marbles. And the Council is too timid to do anything to stop him from running LF into the ground with his reckless actions.

Clearly, getting voted out of office by us didn't do his mind any good. Now, he seems bent on destroying the City as revenge for us voting him out. It's up to the Common Council to stop this vindictive and incompetent laughingstock, and if that means that Council people need to appeal to the County or the State in help with stopping Peters, then it is their duty to do so.

Joy Presta was THE single biggest detriment to residential developement and improvement in this city. She doesn'tlive here. She takes her check and runs home to New Hartford. Seeing how our city lost the fire contract with Danube AND $60,000 in revenue can we really afford new hires?? We need to CUT. Maybe get rid of an ambulance. Consolidate her position and pay someone else a stipend for the extra duties. She has GOT to stay gone!!!!

Obviously he is intelligent enough to win. More than we can say for the others that ran. Or those against him.

I have never said this before, but it is time to put it out in the open. The so-called class divide in this town is not really between newcomers and lifers, at least not directly. Too many of the young and middle-aged people see eye to eye about issues, regardless of how long they have lived here, for that to be the case.

Rather, the source of friction in this town is between really old people and the rest of us. Bob, who is reckless and incompetent but who is not an idiot, wins because he has the support of the really old people who matter. Case in point: remember how Helen rigged the primary for him? Case in point: look at how Betty votes however Bobby tells her to vote.

And the problem runs deeper than re-electing a really old clown as mayor. The really old people in town will ~gladly~ bankrupt the City and destroy the property values for the rest of us, just so they can keep their precious City services for really old people for a few more years, even if the City can no longer afford them. That is why the City attacked all the non-profit exemptions, like the YMCA: Bobby is literally killing the golden goose to fund a few more years, and damn the long-term costs to our City and our infrastructure, because the really old people don't care about the long term.

This is my theory as to the source of the problems in Little Falls.

You have a point Little Falls Problem.
One of challenges the city faces is we do not have any nice senior center housing for the people who can no longer afford their homes.
People hold on to their homes out of fear of the unknown. If they knew there were another options available they might feel differently.

Remember that Helen didn't rig the primary on her own. At least two of the people central to that scandal were people whom I guess were in their 30's or 40's, certainly not old people, but without their active connivance Bobby would not have even been on the primary ballot.

Good try but this doesn't fit. Talk and listen to the old-timers. Most of them either flat-out despise Peters, or, at best, they think of him as a joke. As well they should. They've known him a long long time. Probably some of them beat him up on the school playground back in the day, took his lunch money, and spent it at the candy store.

What people say and what they do in the voting are not always the same.
Peters also has a great deal of support from the LF golf course members who are mostly seniors.
