as long as i have time on my hands while my leg heals up, let me rant on the one way traffic downtown in little falls. why? Most use the shoppers square parking lot as a way to get around downtown. Will the new Price Chopper construction still allow this? If not, crap. I have also heard from some mouthbreathers that the Main drag isnt wide enough for two way traffic. Then how is it wide enough for parking on both sides with two lanes running between.?

If Main Street was made two way again there would be nothing but more air pollution, traffic snarls and fatal accidents. Heal your leg in silence ,Wizzer.

It would need to go to alternate angled parking every other block.

Route 5 should of never been moved. Look at the traffic that would go down main streets look at herkimer state st it is a business hub.

It's clear that the City needs to entirely revisit their traffic routing. This would be a chapter of a comprehensive municipal plan, which the City government has rejected, because preparation of such a plan involves actually listening and taking into consideration the wants and needs and desires of the citizens, and we can't have that.

I'm with you...when ever you take traffic away from
your main street, you lose business. Go ahead say it..there is no business there. that is the reason...people go around us.

The issue of Rt 5 being relocated isn't new...
It has been brought up multiple times.
I don't believe it had a BIG impact!(I didn't say no impact)

IF...
IF the traffic on 5 was a gold-mine...
Then the business east and west of the diversion'...
would be going gang-busters!

Businesses west of Furnace...
And businesses east of Ward... should be strong!

AND...
If your vision were correct...
new business would be locating outside of downtown...
on the UN-diverted parts of Rt 5...

BUT... they haven't... have they?

The City itself has largely turned it back on Rt. 5, and I'm sorry, that is the fault of the developers and business owners along it. The best example is the Knights Inn. It's a freaking motel, for crying out loud. It needs to open directly onto the the highway. Instead it presents to the weary traveler a blank wall. Someone could drive right past it and not even realize that there is a motel there. Same is true with the Kenneys/Dollar General/Kelleys plaza.

Some creative thinking on the part of the City as well as on the part of the businesses could provide some real solutions.

Currently, correct me if I am wrong, the City does not welcome innovative thinking. Things are just fine the way they are. Leave us alone. Bobby knows best. Look how good he is at keeping things just the way they are.

Actually, those businesses are doing well. There arent many. West of the diversion is mostly residential.

The idea that traffic on Main wouldn't help business on Main is ridiculous. Believe what you will.

This City is run by a clique of retards who couldn't get their own thumb up their own butts with both hands. The whole reason they won't do alternate side street parking is because of the one City official who was quoted as asking how was he supposed to get out of his car if he parked on the other side of the street. I'm serious, that actually happened. These people running this City are, simply put, a bunch of idiots and this City has to either replace them...there are plenty of smart intelligent people around here...or face continuing decline. That's the choice. You can't continue to elect idiots and expect good stuff to happen because it wont.

The city was waiting to see the design of the new Shopper's Square with entrances before they changed Main Street to 2 way. Hopefully once that's complete the street can be changed.

Is the street really wide enough to accommodate two lanes of traffic and double-parked delivery trucks without taking away on-street parking from the local businesses?

As long as I am on a traffic rant, I would love to see 2 of the 3 signal lights removed. I will leave it to you to decide which I mean. What a waste of time to sit for a light when there is no traffic!!

Angled parking on one side, changing to the other side in the next block from just west of city hall to post office or 2nd street.

I did not know traffic was one way. No wonder I keep wrecking my car, I must be going the wrong way. I will settle this next council meeting, I will institute three way traffic, that should really improve things. And my Grandson Josh will make a new vactor for the city at his shop, and soon as it stays inone spot long enough.
