Why hasn't Paterson had to have a re-evaluation in 35 years. Why are the rest of us supporting Paterson with our taxes when their properties have not been through a re-evaluation.
Why have our politicians allowed this to occur?
Why can't Paterson live by the same rules as the rest of us?

I am a Senior Citizen (71) and a widow. No children. I live in a condo and my Taxes is very high ($6741.75), the Scool Taxes bring it up more ($3846.13). Why I have to pay it? There have no re-evaluation for long times. It is terible. What can I do?

I've been retired now for three years and honestly, it's the pitts! I only have ss and a small savings, meanwhile my property tax goes up and up. I'm going to have to sell my home and move to a more senior friendly state. Is there one out there? Don't know. I applied for food stamps and was turned down because I get 1354.00 a month ss. I'm over the ss limit. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Meanwhile, I'm eating pasta, pork and beans shoprite brand and make ice tea with shoprite tea bags. I buy one chicken every other week and make a huge pot of soup and then bake it. It's getting bad and then I get the mail and they raised the property taxes. My PSEG is going up. It doesn't pay to retire, get old, or get sick.

You may want to consider looking into a 'reverse mortgage'. From what you say, this could be beneficial to you.

You are very welcome. It may be ideal for you. You get monthly payments for your house. I'm glad this may help. I wish you the best.

Thank you. I found the one Robert Wagner is advertising. Phoned and am getting a package with info. It's very scary, up until a year ago, my husband made the important decisions. Thought we had more time to spend with each other, but he's here in spirit and again, I thank you. My best to you and yours.

For once, I feel that my time on Topix has been worthwhile. If this helps you out, I will feel that it was time worth spending.
