Tracy was my cousin, a very good girl who made a wrong decision, which we all make in our lifetime. Can you honestly swear that you ALLWAYS wore your seatbelt? Lets just say that its really too bad that these incidences even occur...

sla: I'm so very sorry for both the families and all the friends who are grieving these two young women.

I wonder if Mr. Matthews was buckled in or not.

This is clearly a case of lack of seat belt education.

I have NOT seen a AD on TV regarding seat belt use for a long time!! Where are the funds going for seatbelt education??

Take some advice:: Before your kids start driving take them for a tour of the local wrecking yard, you know the place there they park all the wrecked cars. Let them look at some blood and windshields with holes in them and blood around the holes.

Let them see the blood stained seats and you might, if your lucky, be able to spot some gray matter on the windshield or elsewhere. Law enforcement restricts at the site of the wreck but there is ample opportunity to get a hard look at the aftermath of fatal wrecks.

Oh ya I'm sick, but havn't been in an injury wreck yet, knock on wood. With the number of cell phones used in cars it's only a matter of time.

Oh you say the kids are to young to see that kind of carnage, would you rather have them see a friend injured? Or not be able to see after a wreck?

If they are old enought to drive they are old enough to see the results of driving.

The State Patrol report indicates that none of them were wearing seatbelts.

Carrie: Thank you.

BOB: I kind of admire your extreme parenting in this case.

I also agree with you in this case. I will admit I never used to wear a seat belt...until my little sister was in a near fatal car wreck, and she was not wearing her seatbelt. She had 4 strokes at age 17 because of this accident. That scared me shitless. I always buckle up anytime I get into a vehicle.

I am very close to this situation. I think it is for the best that Mike was not wearing his seatbelt as he was in the back seat. Most likely saved his life!

Tracy is my niece. I am concerned about Mike and what his condition is. Does anyone have any information?? I have never saw Tracy come to or leave my home without wearing a seatbelt.
