the second any human child becomes capable of knowing right and wrong, they should and their parents be held accountable for their behavior. The teen looking at porn is doing something wrong that he knew of and his parents are no less to blame. It does not matter if a child looks at another, that too is wrong. Children are supposed to be directed by parents, through education and life, not by horrific acts of degredation or curiosity. porn is porn and for that reason. I dont care what age any person is, it is purely wrong.
Whats interesting is how many commentors seem to think that its ok for a fully self aware human teen to look at child porn/adult otherwise and think its cute or ok, when just five years later its wrong. Age has nothing to do with what action is taken and if it is wrong. What is wrong is the behavior, self awareness of it and why. I consider half of you commentators to be "supporters" to teens and the such towards porn, if you allow an inch they will take a foot. Teach them well first.

At fourteen the kid knew what he was doing. Go ahead and press charges, if it were an adult male the charges would have already been applied. Just cause this kid is cooperating do not mistake it for not knowing what he was doing. At fourteen I knew all there was to know about sex, and did my share of it, but did not post pictures around or carry pictures for others to see. At fourteen a youngman is very versed on the oposite sex. The trouble with kids today is they do these things thinking it is cute and they get away with it, so what did they learn.
Something similar happened in Azle last year but wasn't made public and no action taken because it involved an ex cop (in another city). This stuff happens more often than people imagine.

Please think carefully before you decide to provide cell phones to your kids. I would suggest as pay as you go emergency phone with no bells and whistles!

If this 14 year-old was looking at a 5 year old child then you would be hanging him at the nearest tree...Now if it was the 14 year-old's Dad looking at a 14 year old girl...Dad would be hanging from the nearest tree. What would you do if this 14yo rapes a 14yo? A crime is a crime. Wrong is wrong.

Parents need to not let their kids have computers in their bedrooms. This would prevent a lot of problems. This kid should not be labeled a sex offender but it seems like he & his parents need some family counseling.

You probably sleep with your kids, and breast fed them till they were 14

Sure you can let them have computers in there bedrooms, just no internet access. if they need internet for homework or email they do it where the screen can be seen. Does not mean you have to read over the kids shoulders, but you can see if they are looking at something they shouldn't. I realize he is only 14 but a line has to be drawn somewhere. He may not need to go to jail and be labeled. He does need some kind of a consequence though, and maybe counseling.
