Ok after hours and hours of research and phone calls here is what I found out:
The police in our neighborhood on Sunday afternoon were not only Colony Police offiers, but also Dallas detectives, They were aparently searching for not only a killer, but also the body of a missing Dallas man.(Hence the reference on channel 5 that nite to a "Missing Persons Case") My sources tell me not only did they find the man that had been murdered and then mutilated in ways I will not describe, in the woods, the eventually also found the killer who had migrated from that area to somwhere between here and Lewisville where he was arrested and confessed.(I cannot guarantee this is exactly what happened, but several of my other neighbors and friends have heard the exact same story.)

My issue is this: We were given absolutely NO information regarding that there may hae been a murderer on the loose in our town and not only that, we were then told the next morning that our children were safe to walk to their elementary school alone. My own children are fortunate enough not to have to walk, but I have seen even K and 1st graders walking. What if this man had still been in the area? It was obvious after all of the dogs and helicopters that they did not know where this man was...How are we supposed to feel safe when officials do not release such important information that is vital to the safety of ourselves and our kids???

I just want to say on behalf of anyone who REALLY knew Seth, that this is such a devistating thing! I don't want anyone comparing Seth to a cruel murderer. Seth needed help and was left with an illness and no one to help me. Seth never was anything but a caring awesome person who had some mental issues. He is like part of my family and was for several years. Called my mother mom etc... It is awful that he is being charged with Capitol Murder, because this isn't a crime Seth Winder would do, but something somebody with an illness would. Please everyone who knows the real Seth, don't forget who he is! I wish I would have reached out and helped him get the help he needed.

I was told by someone who has known him since peewee ball, that he tripped on acid one night and was never the same again. It was in their mid teens. He said he was highly intelligent and at one time lived on Knox and grew killer marijuana there. He was not that mental because he has been wandering our town and taking care of himself for a long time now. If he were that bad off, he would not have been able to maintain that long. He just didn't want to go by rules and work. I've watched him walk past in the last few months with a 24pack of beer and he is also able to party in vacant houses, so he must not have been that sick. The fact is, he is the murderer that they are portraying, he did brutally dismember someone and he is going to now face the death penalty. I'm sorry your heart is broken by his actions but he is the one who chose to do that poor victim like that and he should suffer horribly like that man did for doing it. He is not the victim here....the man whose internal organs were found in the bathtub was the victim. You can feel pity for Seth, but get it right on who is the victim and who is the murderer.

You are wrong, I will not argue with you. But I will defend someone who I have known very personally and have watched slowly fade away. As far as the acid story that's not the truth, and yes he would walk arround and (somewhat take care of himself) but did you ever sit with him and talk with him? I as well feel sorry for the victim, but think about it, what person in a stable right mind would do such a grusome thing to someone? You don't know him, so please don't talk on his behalf!

He was recently working at The Christian Community store(cca) in the Colony to work off his communioty service for his legal troubles. he was smiling and joking and showed up. He made conversation and was just a regular person. He is not nearly as mental as you are making him sound. he liked to hang out and party alot and loaf around. He is not the one who should be getting the concerne. The poor man he slaughtered is the one we should be sad for because they are making arrangements to bury a peson who they don't even have all the body for.

Me, my mother, and brothers have all been in cotact and communicated with him several times since he started changing. And as far as the acid I hung out with him back then, that is FALSE info. I have seen him, communicated with him etc... several times over the past 17 years. He din't live on Knox, and never grew anything. I would have felt the same way as you do about a story like this before this happened being that I knew him, and very well. What he did was wrong, the point behind my message was for the ones of us who knew and loved him to try and remeber the Seth we all loved. We also lost someone and we don't have a funeral to go to, we don't have closure. I have spent hours and hours everyday on the phone with all of my friends who where all close to him. And so my point is your information is partial not all true. Whe you say something that is supposed to be a fact make sure you know before you state it.

I understand you and friends are in shock. but he did it though. he is a grown man now, not the child you knew or the teen you knew. he is a grown person who made choices. He is not the child back then he is the murderer now. Remember him how you want. the whole town will remember what his actions were and i'm sure his victim's family will never forget what kind of man and human he is.

I knew him as more than I child. I will ALWAYS remember who he was, and I will ALWAYS cherish the memeories I have. And speak for yourself, I know half the town and most of them would agree with me.

before people start labeling him a murderer maybe we ought to get all of the facts and wait for his trial. no one knows what went down in that apartment except Seth, Mr. Hernandez, and whoever else was there at the time. at any rate, i do not believe he was alone in this and, knowing Seth, it is very likely that he was not the instigator.

This is the last straw! The Colony sucks. Time to get new leadership. I was in Bill Allen park (the park near where this devil's campsite was) with my 2 year old daughter Sunday late afternoon. We went deep into the back of the park to watch the turtles and I kept getting this strange feeling of "looking over my shoulder." The fu$%47652! fact that there was no notice given to the citizens that there was some crazed lunatic on the loose is shameful. In fact looking back now, around 4PM I thought careflight was flying around The Colony, but it looks like it was cops looking for him, then when I was in the Bill Allen park at 6PM cop car drove deep into the park area and then turned around, I mentioned to another park mom that there was the smell of a dead animal in the treed area of the park. So this damn city, knowing there is a lunatic in a park area of The Colony, cannot warn residents to leave the park!!!!!!!! Then to find he was apprehended Monday???? And worse yet, his "campsite" was behind the BB Owen Elementary school. It's time to leave this town. I'd rather have the traffic of Frisco than put my family's safety in the hands of dumb-witted leadership in The Colony.

Ok, listen for all those who are saying it's so terible what is happening to Seth. Let's not forget that he was using a dead and mutilated mans debit card to make purchases. He was also photographed on the victims Camara , which was found in seths fathers house. Alot of hard evidence links Seth to the victim. That poor man who was murdered and hacked up then disguarded. What about him ? I don't see any post praying for the family of that man. For a mother who will never have real closesure of the death of her son. A man who will never have the honor of a funeral. No man or human should have to die In this way. I'm praying for the peace and comfort of Gods presents to the Hernadez family and for Gods mercy on Seth.... Only God can help that man.

Mrman got it right. And I too only just learned of this case on "48 Hours." Here is my take... This Seth is a monster who covered up with a very mild-mannered mask, fooling people for years, and it appears some of those people are fooling themselves in this blog. What's more, I think this Seth is gay and never got a handle on it. Not only does he never seek an occupation in the world, he never learns to be himself among society. He withdraws more & more, and pretends to be cool about it, but meanwhile his resentment of the world is bubbling up in him. Sure, he puts on this pseud-masculine air... think of the weird interest in swords, knives & whatnot, these objects must help him feel cool, important, "manly." But they're not enough. Nothing so human as a sense of humor, or, God forbid, compassion, as the very able black detective on the TV show pointed out, ever takes root in his empty heart. So he meets up with this Hernandez guy who was comfortably gay (I got the impression from the TV show). But what was Seth doing in this man's apartment in the first place??? Doing what comes naturally is my guess. But then he flies into a rage & must destroy this living evidence of his own humanity in the shape of this poor victim Hernandez. Seth deserves to be cut in half. It's would only a measure of Texas humanity that he be given lethal injection or whatever instead.

The fact that you think just because he was able to live as a wondering man is any indication that he wasn't really sick only shows your ignorance.
