this is inaccurate. john, my husband, WAS arrested for driving under the influence (not "Will be" charged)but this does not mean he was actually under the influence of anything when he was arrested. according to the state trooper who arrested him, they HAVE to charge him with this in order to legally be able to test him for the presence of drugs or alcohol in his system. he was found to have NOTHING at all in his system. the charges, once filed, even though the tests proved otherwise, must then be reveiwed by the district attorney and he decides at the hearing (several weeks later) whether or not to prosecute or drop the charges, etc. from what i was told by the officer. in this case, because there WERE NO (yes...NO) drugs or alcohol in his system of any kind, it is unfair for the media to say that he "will be charged" - making it sound like he did something wrong or like he actually was under the influence of drugs. he was not. at the present time, his doctors suspect that he may have been having a mini stroke at the time of the incident or some other neurological cause, and he is undergoing extensive tests to see what is going on. so please people, please STOP with all this prejudging without knowing all the facts. it further victimizes everyone when we allow this to happen. things are not always as they appear.
