The demographics won't be the same in Douglas County 50 years from now anymore than it's the same as it was just 35 years ago. The white "good old boy" network will be long gone, and it will happen long before the 50 year time span has arrived. You can bet that 50 years from now those in power in DC will be a mirror image of those currently sitting on most of the thrones in DK, Clayton, Fulton, etc. I've seen it happen too many times over the past 50 years and it will happen in Douglas County, too.(You have MalinoisMom's word on it. Stick it in a time capsule.)

OK, you will have to get the church goers here to approve liquor by the drink in the county first, and .... we saw how that went. The ultra conservatives in this county seem to have it in a strong grip, so you can point to all these other counties, none of which I want to live in, and I have lived in 3 of those that you mentioned ...

Yes, the people in power will change. But there are more churches being built here every day, so while I reserve the right to be wrong, I don't think this county in particular is going to go for strip clubs for a very long time. If they open they will come under such extreme scrutiny that they won't last long. Just sayin'

A friend told me that one of the commissioners told him that if we were to get adult entertainment in Douglas County, it would be placed in an industrial area much like Fulton Industrial did their clubs.
Until alcohol can be sold by the drink in unincorporated DC, we're probably not going to get any nice restaurants, etc. I doubt there will be strip clubs coming in without alcohol being served. Otherwise, how could husbands explain being there without being able to say they were drunk and that is why they were there in the first place? lol

I know most of the people running Douglasville and Douglas County, and strip clubs probably won't happen in my lifetime regardless of the political mixture we have here.

This is the bible belt out here plus, we tend to worry about strangers moving into town to set up new businesses. So the zoning board won't make any decisions that would piss off the religious community around here.

This question is moot. Anyone who pretends to show up here with the motive of establishing a strip club will find themselves relegated to the bottom of the priority lists of Douglas County. This area has a backbone that I haven't seen in other places in the metro area.

I saw a building renovation permit out there today.It IS a NUDE CLUB.I believe the name of the applicant was SHOW-N-TAIL,a mens club.I asked a guy there when it would open, he says late janaury 2010.I amso noticed in the douglas county news paper there was an ad for pole dancers at a new club on hwy 92.There was also a sign hanging in FANNYS on fulton industrial that was hiring for a new club in douglasville january 2010, so THIS IS TRUE!....I have my dollar bills out and ready to go

On Sept. 17th, 2009 I attended a city council meeting about a shooting range and the people an the agenda before were seeking a permit to open an adult night club in Douglasville. It wasn't presented as a strip club, but more of a bar. I don't know if this is what folks are talking about, but since the board was still asleep from their after dinner nap, they might have passed anything.

Since I forgot about all of the abandoned buildings around here and I did not see a proper location listing, I will clarify. The building I checked out was on 92, but at the Paulding/Douglas border.

There aint nothing else going on around here to do except watch the new jail go up anyway, So how could a little bumping and grinding not liven the place up a bit? Plus, all those illegals pouring into the county to build the jail need a place to get all liquored up before they head home in there unregisterd cars.
