Well, let's think this through...

Sure, it rolls off the tongue and is easy to say: "let's boot the democratic incumbents!"

Well, once we are done with all the insubstantial rhetoric and noise of the statements, we are left with the question of who are we going to replace them with?

Republicans? Really? Do we want to put back into power the people who consistently support deregulation that allow Wall Street, the Banks, the mortgage industry, and the military industrial barons who consistently screw the average taxpayer, so that the rich can get richer?

Republicans? The same people who were so irresponsible as to try to actually attempt to put a verifiable idiot like Sarah Palin one old mans heart-attack away from controlling 10,000 nuclear warheads?

Republicans? The same people who can only define themselves through racial hatred, warlike agendas, coddling the richest criminals, and screwing the common man?

Republicans? The same people who would rather let 1 in 10 Americans suffer and die without health insurance, rather than take away some perks from the criminal insurance companies?

In case you missed the news, America is really tired of that shit. They aren't going to clean house this next election. That would mean putting the republicans in office and supporting their confused sad little agenda.

So..open your eyes and quit being a hater. Let's solve some problems and love our country, rather than hating our black president.

Well, we da*n sure don't want to keep the Democrats in office. We've sampled their agenda and it STINKS. Do you enjoy being force fed policies without debate? Do you want health insurance that is not good enough for the president and congress? Do you want the debt to keep skyrocketing? Do you want the rate of unemployment to keep rising? Do you want to become totally dependent on government? Can you not make your own decisions about running your own life? I would consider a third party candidate, but how are we to determine if that person is telling the truth? You can research all day long and when it gets down to it, it's a crap shoot. I have never voted for anyone whom I thought was intentionally lying. Have you?

"Well, we da*n sure don't want to keep the Democrats in office."

Well, I guess that depends on how we define "WE". If by "WE" we mean the "majority of American voters" I would have to label this statement as being incorrect.
__________
"Do you enjoy being force fed policies without debate?" ---There's been a lot of debate about this issue, maybe too much debate..(Sorry..a bad Bono joke..)
__________
"Do you want health insurance that is not good enough for the president and congress?" This is a good point. I think that "we the people" should demand that our elected officials use the same insurance that is available to the American public. That said..you are welcome to use any insurance you like under the new bill. In fact, it is very likely that you will have more competitive choices than you've ever had before. This is a good thing. It is also a good thing that 1 out of 10 Americans won't find themselves without insurance like they currently are. Thank goodness for this health-care bill. Anything that shakes up the disaster that is unfairly weighted to share-holders rather than people that we have right now is a good thing.
__________
"do you want the debt to keep skyrocketing?"

Another good point. No, I don't. Which is precisely why we don't want to Republicans back in office. This bailout wouldn't have been necessary if the Republicans hadn't removed the safe-guards in place that allowed the collapse of our economy. Why did the Republicans remove them? So that their cronies could swindle more money. This bailout is expensive and my daughter will still be paying for it 50 years from now. Thanks Republicans. Bush couldn't be happier that he got out of office just as his house of cards came falling down on the American taxpayers. Now responsible people are left with cleaning up this mess.
__________
"Do you want to become totally dependent on government? Can you not make your own decisions about running your own life?"

This is just stupid wedge-building rhetoric and even you are too smart to fall for it. You know better.

Yeah..it's a problem. Our political system is so broken it may be un-fixable. Our only hope is to have educated voters. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.

I believe you may find that label correct in the next election.
That said..you are welcome to use any insurance you like under the new bill. In fact, it is very likely that you will have more competitive choices than you've ever had before. This is a good thing. You honestly believe that you'll get to keep your insurance if you like it? lol Uh, okay. Competitive choices??? Do you honestly think any private insurance companies will be able to compete with the government option??? Oooookay. I may not be correct on everything I feel is wrong with this bill, but I am willing to bet that you are not correct on everything you think is right about it. Let's just see how it plays out in the Senate. By the way, you can demand all you want to from the government, but it won't help. They will not have the same insurance. Does that not kind of sour the bill for you just a little? That tells me that there is plenty inherently wrong here.

Okay. This is a waste of time. Just another Bush "blamer". lol I guess you are one of those who believes you can spend your way out of debt. Thank YOURSELF for saddleing your children with debt. You are calling all of the people who want the government to take care of them...responsible? That's just too funny.

I do think that you will be able to keep your current insurance. In fact, I suspect that private insurance will turn out to be far more affordable and competitive than the public option. I am not counting on anything that is government run to be efficient or high-quality.

That said, it will be a blessing to the many who are screwed by private insurance and need health care.

I strongly expect to see a lot of bureaucracy, corruption, and complete ineptitude in the public option. You can bet on it. It still serves a purpose of keeping private insurance more honest and transparent. Their days of machine-like cash producing at the expense of everybody and everything else are over. This is a good thing.

It would be easy to dismiss me as a simple "Bush blamer", but there is real substance to my argument. Go back and read about how credit-default swaps became possible.

The statement about "people who want the government to take care of them"...that's pure Republican rhetoric, and not completely accurate.

Sure there are generations of welfare families..everybody hates them, Republicans and Dems alike. And I REALLY like the idea of of peeing in a cup before writing a check. I really like the idea of only helping people MOST people out until they help themselves, in the case of those who can contribute to society.

But there are also real citizens..members of our tribe..our brothers..formerly productive people..that somehow hit upon hard times. A compassionate society doesn't simply tell their less fortunate..."hey buddy..survival of the fittest, and it's time for you to die.." Decent humans, and by extension, a decent societies, extend a helping hand to those who need it.

By the way..I'm sure you'll find this entertaining..I used to call myself a Republican many years ago. Ultimately, that party quit standing for anything, it completely and utterly lost its soul. It became about profit and cronyism, and it threw the
American Public under the bus. It got to the point where the party and I agreed on nothing, including the subject of having or not having a sense of ethics. This happened to a lot more people than just me, as evidenced by this last election.

These yahoos in here don't even realize the government subsidizes their employer paid medical insurance to the tune of 255 billion dollars a year. We've had government insurance for many, many years.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Aries

It's one of those days when you'd be wise to mind your Ps and Qs if you want to avoid putting both feet in it or feeling like a fool. The trouble is that you're finding it hard to think before you speak, and you're rushing into situations without thinking about the possible consequences. All you can do is to apologize and try your hardest not to let it happen again.
