Lung cancer scans backed for older, heavy smokers

My dad was diagnosed with hcc and was adviced for liver transplantation. now 3 months post transplantation, in a ct scan report, i saw a comment stating
" Visualized lung bases appear normal except for small subcentimeter soft tissue attenuation nodule seen in the visualized right middle lobe. No significant bilateral pleural/pericardial effusions are noted".
is there a reason to worry? is this anywhere related to lung cancer.
