double talk on both sides, its said the 20 thou is an advance on WHAT. On the money tken in on SALES AT AND FROM THE MUSEUM?? hummm, NON PROFIT> ?? orIS IT AN ADVANCE ON TAX MONEY PROJECTED FOM THE HOTEL TAX ? When is tax money NOT tax money that goes into any department in this city to run that deptment,when the hell did it become possible to seperate funds, Call it what you want but bullshit smells the same all over.

That is incorrect,it can however indirectly fill city coffers,but it has to do so thru drawing tourism.
(E) Use of proceeds. The city shall expend the tax collected pursuant to this section solely to promote tourism and conventions within the city and, otherwise, to attract nonresident, overnight visitors to the city, and no tax collected pursuant to this section shall be used to advertise for or otherwise to promote new competition in the hotel business within the city.

this tax CAN be USED ,NOT MUST BE USED, unles we get another 4 4 majority vote like always there is NO section to cover NOT PASSING THE COUNCILs WILL.
