I'm telling you folks, the stretch between North Branch and Forest Lake is a zone where your life expectancy drops for that 15 miles or so. I'm not sure what it is about that area.

Actually the area where this poor person died, in Lino Lakes between Lexington and hwy 23, has seen its share of untimely freeway deaths. In fact if this was old Montana, where they used large white crosses as symbols of highway fatalities, there would probably be about 8-10 of them in this Lino Lakes 35W stretch including a Lino Lakes Police officer and also a man who tried to remove a dead deer from the road. A lot of meddi-airlift choppers have landed in this area, trying to help the survivors. Nothing to laugh about whatsoever.

Yeah, I was sleeping on this one, so I'll extend the region of weird accidents down to Lino and so forth, but you get the idea....one of the worst areas is in the whole stretch is around Wyoming.

Very close.....Brooks was closer to Forest Lake, I seem to recall, right before the split heading south on 35.

I was in the backup from Herb's accident. It happened at the I35W-I35E split.(Did you see "Miracle" on ABC last night? What a great movie!)

On your way from Wyoming south to Forest Lake on I-35, about 1 1/2 miles look to the west near a dirt road, there's about 4 crosses on a fence from 4 teenagers who crashed at dawn one summer and died. Across from them, on the northbound lanes, is where A guy in a van, during afternoon the afternoon commute, lost control while passing in the left lane, rolled and was thrown and died. Just north of Wyoming, within 3/4 of a mile, several people were killed when a semi plowed into their slowed mini van. I could relate dozens of other crash stories as well from Stacy to Lino lakes.
As to Herb he fell asleep at about 4PM on a bright sunny warm afternoon and went out of control just on the otherside of the truck weigh area approaching(heading south)the I-35E I-35W split. Senseless deaths due to speed or lack of attention
