"The district said the loss of the funding would equal a 5 percent budget reduction, resulting in larger class sizes and cuts to programming. "
From what I have seen so far this year, there is very little classroom space left to increace class size. In most of my kids classrooms they are already placing desks together to eliminate the extra rows - just to fit the students they already have!

The idea of the intersection improvements is good, but the city's execution of these is horrible.
They are cramming an intersection into a location at Ware and Birch that will require them to reroute local traffic on residential roads. Rather than addressing the significant problem that exists on Birch Street. A total waste of taxpayer money.
Additionally, the city is playing tax tricks with its citizens because they are combining two intersection initiatives onto one ballot action rather than having them voted on separately. The city did this because the intersection at Ware and Birch does not meet warrant with the county, so the county is not funding that intersection. If it is so necessary, why won't the county fund it!?
SHAME ON THE LINO LAKES CITY COUNCIL!
