Why do you think Helene Tsouprakis and Annmarie Larossa are no longer business partners? Because they TOLD you so?
Annmarie Larossa told westbrook teachers & principal that westbrook wasn't being closed.
Look how that turned out.
She's back at #1 on the mosted hated list in wi.

They are no longer business partners. What makes you think they still are---take it from me, someone who has had kids at that school for 8 years!--- Annmarie has not set foot in the West Islip school in YEARS. Helene and Annmarie are smart businesswomen and they know what they are doing. The time had come where it was economical and made business sense to split. What do you think -- that they had some grand scheme to take over one of our elementary schools - that makes no sense. The fact is, Helene's lease is up and she has an opportunity to move to a bigger space. So her friend and former business partner happens to hold several influential positions - that doesn't mean she automatically gets what she wants. It has to be approved by the entire board. Everyone loves to act like Annmarie is the Great and Powerful Oz or something but she is just ONE of MANY that had to approve this decision. And pay attention to the bigger picture which is that South Shore is willing to move to Westbrook and PAY US RENT! Should we say no to them --- and leave the building empty and collecting dust

Did they advertise that these buildings were going to be given away at $10.00 a square foot in a competetive and open bid?
That's a pretty sweet deal.
I remember you were asking the same questions about a year ago, so what's the answer?

A small storefront in West Islip is around 7000 a month in rent. Landlords are getting it, otherwise there would be a lot more vacancies. There is the LaGrange, why not rent that? It's huge!
I think the answer is simple, we need to give away the space because after all, it's better than nothing, that's the logic.

she is going to be paying more than $7,000 a month. Call her and ask her. She really doesn't deserve to have her name and her business bashed all over the internet.

I have had my kids at that school for the last 8 years. Even with all of the school closing BS last year, I still registered my preschooler there because I felt it was the best school around. Time to grow up and separate your hatred of what the Board does and what goes on in the real world.

If you don't like the questions people are raising, you can leave. I don't appreciate the personal insults to be honest, it degrades a debate. You were the biggest critic of the BOE in the past. I only hope that we aren't giving away the rent just because it's what the so called market can bear...If a storefront with very little square footage is 7000.00 a month in rent, we should be seeing a much higher rent from these two schools, which includes so many extras. Was this a competitive bid for the space?

The difference between me and you is that you accept the premise outlined by these people and it's enough just to get some rent. I say they needed to raise the bar, involve some real competition, and not settle for friends and allies because they can. It's always the same thing (I know it happens everywhere) but if these people want constituents to be more respectful then it's so important to steer away from deals that stink of cronyism. It's too easy, which makes it very wrong. Where will these people draw the line? That is what community is annoyed about. We could do better, we can always do better.

I dont call the police because my life is not threatened by this loser and he or she amuses me, and all of my friends, just like you do.
