I am exhausted after reading this banter. You all are very intelligent and see things from many angles......of course this observation excludes power stroke. I can not tolerate reading ONE MORE of his posts because he has deficiencies in third grade grammar and punctuation. I am practically seething. How can you claim to "know" the justice system and laws, yet use words such as "commonsence" and totally misuse every pronoun available? Let me guess.....this is evidence of the "average" person these days. This is why fanatical religion dominates the ignorant. They have little ability to think for themselves and therefore appreciate someone they perceive as righteous telling them what to think and how to behave. I love God more than the next "Christian". In order to convert people, you must be an example and offer them a life of love and peace as proof of His existence. The hell-fire and brimstone method and fear-mongering only drives people further from the cause. By being completely uneducated and quick to judge, power stroke embodies everything that logical folks run from. We should all be anxious to hear the fate of these young people and hope that the Texas justice system actually behaves as its name claims.
It is my experience, having lived in east Texas for 20+ years that righteous indignation and the influence of atheism will be the reigning topics in the trial. People here are snappy to judge and jump in the pulpit to condemn others. They often forget the bible's own statements about casting the first stone and "judge not". Fanatical Christians have the uncanny ability to remember obscure bible references to vilify those they disagree with, yet completely forget the biggest, most basic foundations of Christ: Love and Forgiveness. I pray for these two actions to sweep through the hearts of all affected by this disaster.

we are in a time when the amateur is exalted over experts

and sadly, it means that many amateurs think that they are experts

who, in keeping with the times, I guess we can safely ignore

But you see - thats part of an atheists argument - or is mine anyway...

If someone is loving and caring but with motive to convert - this disingenuous attitude is not much better than the fire and brimstone attitude - it just seems better from one perspective.

Why not just be loving and caring for NO other reason at all... and only express it if you mean it.

A facade of disingenuous kindness will just bring the same resentment you say it cane avoid. I just don;t see that working for very long. It will breed more distrust.

At least with a fanatical christian - I know what they stand for and can be prepared - but a con-artist (another source of disingenuous kindness) is much more dangerous.

Well (understanding)! I did not post topics on here for you to grade. You want to comment on here about how your a Christian then you probly shouldnt be talking down other people! Right? If you dont like what you read here then click another link on your screen.

I unlike others dont care were my sentences start and stop. I dont care how I use words in the English Language because I honestly think its Ignorant to sit and judge people on how they compose a freaking sentance or parahgraph. I have seen post on this website with way way way worse grammar then mine. I dont go blasting out at them about it even if I dissagree with what they say.

Like I posted in the past. These two boys should be made a example of. Our Judicial system sucks, Our Government sucks. All because of the m word.(MONEY) It sickens me to see child molesters and murders walk free just because they have the money to hire the right Attorneys. So when I see this on a daily basis yes I lose faith in the Judicial system.

As for you people that want to critisize others on here because their grammer is not on the same level as yours you are no better of a person for judging these people. You know nothing about them for all you know it could be your boss, friend, relative, neighboor, co-worker, or just a complete stranger. Does it really matter how they put down their words as long as you can read what they put down and can get the point. Isnt that the goal to make your position or point known. Everybody does things that other people dont agree with but why would you want to talk down to them as if your better then them for it. Kinda imature if you ask me. Then again you didnt ask me did you. Because your better then me because you know how to write a post better then me.

Such a heartfelt and thoughtful post, I cannot bring myself to criticize.

So I won't.

Even though I do not agree with your conclusion? I think you are sincere; if more believers were as you appear to be?

I'd cheerfully have no issue with them.

Why?

Why these two, in particular?

Because you think their crime was especially heinous?

Or because their crime was against a church?

Or, because they had the GALL to have a couple of atheist books? How DARE they have such things!

After all-- nobody was actually hurt-- they just burned some buildings. Which were no doubt insured, so no real loss to society, right?

Yet....YOU want to string these two up from the nearest tree without so much as the bother of a trial..!

Again....WHY THESE TWO, IN PARTICULAR?

And why not make "examples" of child molesters....? Like, say the local Catholic Priest is apt to be...?

Hmmm.

Can you say, "hypocrite"?

Good. Now go look up the definition.

dude, you didn't understand my post

we don't have to judge you because

you are broadcasting how suboptimal your thinking is

and we're just agreeing with what you are saying with the incoherent, poorly structured and extremely bad spelling to the point that context isn't enough to know what word you meant to use.

what you try to say with the mess that you post, well, most of the time, it's not worth responding to

that's probably why some folks point out the grammar and spelling, they are hoping that you might comprehend it.

since higher thinking is beyond your ken

The author of that lame'o video is seriously un-talented.

I would rather watch local, amateur car-ads from "Smilin' Jack's Honest Used Cars" than that noisy tripe.

Go peddle your tripe-video to some forum that cares-- if you can find one, that is.

DETROIT Nine alleged members of a Christian militia group that was girding for battle with the Antichrist were charged Monday with plotting to kill a police officer and slaughter scores more by bombing the funeral all in hopes of touching off an uprising against the U.S. government. Having the highest per-person rate of incarceration in the world is nothing to brag about when the incarcerated are basicly just getting a free ride of the tax payers. The prison system like many other things have a lot to be desired. I hardly see how housing a inmate for years in a prison system that caters to an inmates every need is worthy of a crime such as these boys did.
What would you suggest? That we burn them on a stake? Starve them? Any time you have laws that punish the possession of one marijuana plant more harshly than bank robbery, that you end up with prisons over flowing.

As for harsh treatment for burning churches, why should they be any harsher than ordinary arson? You seem to come from those who yell, give them a trial, then lets string them up. And just how do you know they are guilty? They were arrested, not convicted. The only evidence presented in the article was that they read about devils and had an atheist book. Yet you rush to judgement. A typical christian response.

Hmmm...

Speaking of books...

I seems that any murder, rape, torture, or other horrible crime that takes place in a motel or hotel room, casino room et. al. will contain a hidden bible in the furniture! WOW what a revelation!

So based on the previous arson logic... the conclusion would be?
