Neb. man, woman plead not guilty in bong-cat case

Associated Press - April 8, 2009 7:25 PM ET LINCOLN, Neb. - A Lincoln man and his girlfriend have pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty charges after he allegedly put her cat in a makeshift bong.

that is the stupidest thing i ever heard of, kittens or not calm, and you cant calm them by filling there lungs with smoke, those two idiots should get at least 20 years in prison, that was really cruel for that poor kitten, they may of thought it was funny, but not to that poor cat, he had nowhere to go. I hope like hell that they never ever get another animal.

Sure that was a dumb move, but the kitten was unharmed. I don't think that the justice system needs to incarcerate these people for a good portion of their lives because of it. Hell, the public humiliation and resentment seems like an apt punishment for what they did.

I know Randy Traver and he's a real scumbag. He went to jail for three months for beating his girlfriend. He should have gone to prison. To this day she still has trouble walking. If you go to interlinc Lancaster County under county attorney you can find the criminal case under his name.

A little research and this is Randy Traver This is the information on Randy Traver case CR08-826 is our case number (District Court's) after case CR06-10111 was appealed to our court by the State of Nebraska. The charges were Domestic Assault 3rd Degree, Misdemeanor. Our office issued a Mandate to County Court on 11/26/2008 with the following decision: fine vacated and matter remanded to county court to reinstate 90 days jail. On 2/2/2009, a House Arrest Commitment was issued on you and then converted to a sentence of time served on 4/27/2009 (according to County Court records).
