He is desperate. He's just trying to delay the inevitable so he can get his drivers license and spend time with his new girlfriend. Does he think she's going to stay with him for all the years he does in prison? Nope. He's going to have new friends. Prison folk don't like people that kill their daughters and they are waiting for him. He thinks Jesus is going to save him. He has no remorse because Jesus forgives him. Too bad for him that humans aren't as forgiving and they have shanks.
