Past is the past

Thought it was about time we started a new forum here and somehow to begin moving forward here in Lima.
I'll try but I'm sure the linguring desent initiated by others now 2 years running is hard to swallow.
Dan you seem to giving things a shot with some ideas however you will need to look beyond your close little group and see the BIG picture and realize that thier are more people in this community than those that suddenly raised thier voice and appeared to care about Lima 2 years ago. It is still, as you can see from reading recent posts the feeling of many of us that your group only cares about themselves and what's good for them and not what is good for LIMA. You seem to have an "apparent" plan to help and seem to show some interest in listening to us that didn't have the same beliefs as your coharts had. In order for me to truely believe your intentions are ment to be in the best interests to all of us I feel you need to distance yourself somewhat from the arrogance that drove this community to where it is. I will take a what and see position watching closely as to where things may lead. When the time is right I too will help where I feel it warrents my taking part. But from what I see and understand at this point nothings really going to get better very soon and honestly feel the bottom hasn't been found yet...time will tell. Not for yours or anyone elses personal gain, but for LIMA I wish you the best.
As for everyone else, let try and have an open mind going forward and do our best to to put the past in the past.

I understand the hesitation. Trust (and mistrust) should be earned. I will not debate the past and characterizations that have been made. It is not productive. There is nothing to really distance myself from. My job is to listen and discuss issues with all citizens in this community.
It is frustrating at times not being able to communicate to folks. That is why I got on topix. My schedule and family life does not lend me to be at the local eateries to have discussions. I hope that will change in the future.

Another business closed, HSBC closes its doors not that it was a big branch or even needed. What is left or shall I say what is next?

I predict the new jewelry store will go. If a customer is reminded that they have another branch in Lakeville, it sounds as if the end is on the way.

A year ago roughly I spoke to someone in Avon at HSBC, they have plans of leaving Downtown Avon also, but not the area. A Bank between Avon and Lima was mentioned as being considered, most likely in East Avon on 5&20 and 390.
