Good, that is the best news I have had all day. I have three older teenagers and the more we have these kind of mornings, the less likely we will have mornings where our children have been taken from us because of stupidity and outrageous drug activity.

I think it's great that they're getting criminals off the street, but at the same time, there were kids waiting at a nearby bus stop. They could have waited until a bit later in the morning or something. Gunfire is never a good thing...especially not when there are kids around.

I just wish they would have waited until the children were already in school. Seems a little dangerous for all that activity to be going on with kids near.

Wow this is great news! Cleaning up the streets. That just makes my day!

Don't believe everything you here in the news though. Law enforcement agencies always take the time of day into consideration when planning one of these sting operations. The law enforcement have to do this kind of planning because thety know before they even get started that the news media will try and find something wrong with any operation.

If you read the story, you will see that the raid happened at 6 a.m. Do any of your kids catch a bus at 6 a.m.?????....What safer time would you have picked?...Mid-day/Evening? So that everyone in the house getting raided would be up and moving about, if not at work?

Or 6 a.m. before you get up and your kids are at the bus stop...any shotting was done in 2 minutes...so latest was 6:02 a.m....are your kids out then?

Before I even saw the picture of the man being escorted from the home I knew it was going to be a Mexican. Norcross and drugs. And just think some of you want to open the gates and let all the Mexicans come on in. Well not in your neighborhood right. And I have about as much use for the police as I do the Mexicans. Who would schedule a drug raid across from a school bus stop with kids around. Trigger happy pigs thats who.
oh just stop. while i dont have any pity for anyone dealing with drugs, i dont like catogorizing. the only thing i agree with the comment is operating the drug raid while kids are around. why put the young ones in danger??

I see your point, but they probably had to move when they could. With these guys goine that'll be fewer kids who will be able to buy drugs for a while.

why would they disrupt that childs day? they did the right thing by letting the child attend school as not to put anymore stress on the child. You are an idiot if you think that child will come home to an empty house. I would bet you a million bucks that there will be a relative or social worker waiting if not picking the child up from school to explain what happened. What good is defacs anyway? they are crimminals stealing from the children.

Dude...calm down. It said in the article that there were kids nearby. One woman said she wishes the kids hadn't been there. Am I missing something?

Norcross, back in the 70's and 80's was a beautiful, peaceful place to live.

Today, I get really sad driving through (when I can muster up the courage). Downtown Atlanta has nothing on Gwinnett when it comes to crime and gang activity.

to the few of you who made comments on him being mexican i understand we are in Georgia and there are a lot of mexicans but not everyone having a tan complexion looking hispanic is mexican. and not all hispanics and black people sell or do drugs. i am dominican i am college educated and i have a full time job and make very good money and i am only 24 years old and it pisses me off to see these posts where stereotyping is all across the board. how bout saying "had to be another lazy kid who lost his/her way"

That, and you can't read half the damn signs anymore. Give these illegals 30 days to leave. They can go home by train, plane, automobile, or they can go home in a boxcar in a plastic bag.

It was a good idea to get them in the morning so early. They were probably still in bed. Also, if they waited later, there is always the possibility, however unlikely, that the perpertrators would take off and seek refuge in a school occupied by hundreds of children. It's happened before with dire consequences.

Home is where your heart is, so stay there today if you can. Surround yourself with your loved ones, even if you're all slumped on the sofa in front of the TV. If you love cooking, you'll get sweet satisfaction from shutting yourself in the kitchen, and either producing a delicious meal or creating some Christmas food that can live in the freezer till you need it.
