Who told you that? Former Republican US Senator Larry Craig? I will admit your Republican expertise about such things.

1. None of Franklin's writings contain such a saying.
2. The word "lunch" did not come into usage until the 1820's, long after Franklin's death in 1790.
WAY TO GO, CAIN! MAKING MISTAKES EVEN BEFORE YOUR NETWORK LAUNCHES!
But what can we expect of a talk-show host? To watch Cain misquoting Franklin, play the video trailer here:

What about Obama and his misquotes, lies, and mispronounced words, example Corpsmen... Obama lies so much he misquotes himself. What about his 1 term promise based on his words concerning the debt and unemployment numbers??? If America overlooked everything Obama has mislead and just flat out not responded to, his Presidency would be filled with WHAT accomplishments? His Presidency rides on Bin Laden and a healthcare plan yet to be instituted?

You are truly insane...what is the difference between a mistake about a quote, which by the way, is a very common misquote concerning who really stated it concerning Cain, and Obama mispronouncing words or stating once that we had 57 states. Mistakes happen, you however cannot EVER admit any wrongs of Obama, which is ridiculous. Have you seen what you have become? Your intelligence surely can allow you to look inward and see you have a problem. I am calm as can be, no hyperventilating on my part. You however, are just a sad, narcissistic, lonely,HYPOCRITICAL, hate filled older man that is mad at the world that you feel took your dreams away.

WASHINGTON — Much of White House hopeful Mitt Romney’s fortune lies well-hidden in a network of opaque offshore investments including some $30 million in the Cayman Islands, Vanity Fair reported Tuesday.

Romney has amassed vast wealth — estimated to be as high as $250 million — since founding private equity firm Bain Capital in 1984, and he consistently says his successful business experience is what puts him in better position than President Barack Obama for turning around the sluggish US economy.

But while his campaign insists Romney has not exploited the offshore havens to avoid paying necessary US taxes, the difficulty in tracking the overseas transactions and holdings raises questions about the candidate’s finances in the heat of a campaign.

The report detailed how Romney continues to have personal interests in at least 12 of the 138 funds organized by Bain in the Caymans, where such investments are hidden behind confidentiality disclaimers, making an assessment of Romney’s true wealth virtually impossible.

FARRAKHAN DELIGHTS:‘YOU’RE LIVING NOW IN THE FALL OF THE UNITED STATES‘ AND ITS ’IMPERIAL DESIGNS’
He can thank Brother Commo Obozo for this!

The Minister Louis Farrakhan has a penchant for warning about America’s purported demise. Last month, he delivered a fiery, three-hour sermon during which he proclaimed that Allah will “take out” U.S. cities with earthquakes. The radical faith leader also warned that America must “submit” to avoid this impending chaos.

(Related: Allah Will ‘Bring Down’ America’s Skyscrapers: Horrific New Farrakhan Audio Praising Sharia Law and Threatening ‘Death’ Unless ‘America Submits’)

On Sunday, Farrakhan continued this theme, although he did so in a much more toned-down manner. Still, he seemed to border on delighting in what he sees as the impending destruction of both the U.S. and Europe, chastising their “imperial” ways and their alleged mistreatment of mankind.

“But if you live the kind of life that Christ and Muhammad called human beings to live, there’s no such thing as death. Physically we all have to go, but death can only come when your vanity, your greed, your self-conceit ends your days. And that’s why the Koran talks about the rise and the fall of nations because they rise in their power and knowledge and become vein and then they fall away and they die.

So you read about the fall of the Roman Empire, the fall of the Persian Empire, the fall of Ancient Egypt, the fall of Ancient Babylon and you’re living now in the fall of the United States of America and Europe and their imperial designs on the masses of the people of the earth. But they are dying and in the midst of their death there’s a living entity calling us to higher civilization. Calling us to think…like social beings that understand our connection to other human beings. In the animal kingdom all of us are a part of the ecosystem of God…there is no death for those who live beyond themselves.”

DEPENDENCE DAY

Every American knows we will be celebrating the 4th of July on Wednesday; not enough of us remember why.

Few of us truly grasp the profound significance of the separation between the American people and our government. We are a nation of self-sovereign individuals, and as the term implies, our government has no authority over our private affairs and no claim over our property. That’s what makes this country unique…or did.

Our elected officials all talk about “the American people” like we were undifferentiated; they would have us believe what is good for us is just one thing and they happen to know exactly what it is. They no longer make their laws conform to our liberty; they make our liberty conform to their laws.

This is exactly wrong; us having to conform to their laws is the same unbearable circumstance that led us to revolt in 1776, only now our tax burden is even higher.

It is easy to become confused and think that we and the government are inseparable. Our government has enacted public housing, public education, public health care, public libraries, public transportation, public debt; and we have been told all of those are “ours”.

We hear about the public good, the public interest, and the public trust so often we start to hallucinate and see the mirage ourselves; we begin to think there might actually be such things. We have been taught that we are dependent on government for our security and prosperity; many have come to believe that we cannot possibly exist independent from it.

With each generation we drift farther and farther away from the nation’s first principle – liberty. We have lost sight of what it means to be free and we have forgotten what it is that we are to be liberated from – namely, government.

Today the notion that each of us is self-sovereign and that our laws are subordinated to the God-given rights we inherit at birth seems archaic and radical. The idea that the people limit the government has been stood on its head; it now limits us.

We have foolishly accepted the idea that government is our master and we must obey its commands. We view with suspicion those who demand that our Constitution be respected and that our individual liberties be restored; we fear the truly independent among us; we envy those who succeed on their own.

So let’s have some truth in advertising and celebrate Dependence Day this 4th of July. Let us marinate in our dull conformity and revel in our meek compliance.

Let’s all drive exactly the posted limit, don’t put any grams of CO2 in the air firing up those backyard grills, make sure the kids check with Bloomberg about how much pop they can have, and let’s allow MADD to ration the beer. No boats, jet skis, or water-skiing on Dependence Day either – you need a truck to pull that kind of gear and we are supposed to be Volt-dolts now, haven’t you heard?

Since we are all one great collective, we’ll need to vote on what kind of music comes out of our boom-boxes at the park; some nice majority-rules, non-offending Barry Manilow perhaps, or maybe some Bee Gees. That’s what democracy sounds like; at volumes below the noise ordinances, thank you very much for your cooperation.

Some kids don’t have dads willing to drive down to Kentucky to get mortars and other contraband fireworks, so it’s going to be those lame sparklers for everybody this Dependence Day – no child left behind to have fun. And put away all that red, white, and blue, because someone somewhere somehow will find a way to get themselves offended at the flags, and we can’t have that.

Not much of a happy July 4th for me as I am still trying to figure out how affordable insurance is going to be for us. My wife got a $10k/yr raise yesterday and in return she lost her insurance. Been awake researching insurance plans since early morning and the insurance plan that her Ob/Gyn accepts (Empire/Blue Cross) is minimum $1400. At that price point, no dental and no vision. This is not health insurance, it's highway robbery and the GOP base clams that we've the best health insurance in the world.
This raise was meaningless. She lost her entire raise plus some to health insurance premiums. She is now worse off in terms of take home salary. Not only that, an employer gets tax exemption, but an individual does not. In the GOP world, everything is loaded against the middle class salary earner.

The Republicans are doing their usual song and dance about how they have the answers and don't like or do things which they find objectionable, unless of course, they save money or receive benefits from them. Sarah Palin was against health care being provided by the government but her daughter immediately put herself and her son on a plan by the Federal government for Native Americans, and that was Read More... hypocritical. Now, we see all these Republicans availing themselves of benefits they supposedly want to demolish.

They have no plan and don't have any plans to extend care and lower costs but they are demonizing this one over the mandate but they want to mandate women out of birth control coverage and want to mandate them out of a choice regarding their pregnancies. They don't find that invasive or controlling but yelp like crazy over individuals who can afford health care and access it being required to either do it or encounter a pinch to encourage them to do so.

Their stands are repulsive, damaging, and counter productive to getting access to care, providing people with a choice, and to beginning to make our health care system so inefficient and costly. Remember, they cooperated with Medicare Part D but forbid Medicare from providing it, putting it in the hands of private companies, sometimes a multitude of companies, which have huge overheads. Pull Medicare Part D back into Medicare and get rid of the overhead and then Medicare should have the ban on negotiating prices lifted, and that ban was passed by the Republicans. How could they support and want to protect and provide the best for this country and think a provision which forbids negotiation of better pricing is in the best interest of the country and its' people? The truth is that it is not in the best interests of the country and neither are they.
