Didn't Go just post their first profit and Hawaiian reported another loss?

Good luck to all three carries, Mokulele, go! and Island air!!!

The fate of your airlines and the success of your operations will guarantee the livelihood of hundreds of locals who depend so heavily on their jobs in these tough times. No one wants to be out of work.

Aloha closed in part because of go! but not entirely. It's closure had a lot to do with bad management and close observers predicted their dismiss years ago. It's time to move and be supportive... people's lives are at stake.

Letís see if I can put things into prospective for all those over enthusiastic and the vociferous few about the wonders of Hawaiian Air:

Hawaiian is the number one carrier in the nation when it comes to on-time performance.
What is the big deal: Hawaiian flies a small bunch of airplanes between destinations that have the best weather in the world. So, no magic or management wonders there. But Hawaiian has been losing money for decades while the management compensation has increased every year to substantial levels and as a reward for what? Barely keeping the airline afloat?

I was a shareholder in HAL and in the end, after listening for years to the greatness of all the CEOís, from Nobles to Casey, to Smith and Dunkerley, the airline is still losing money, I have lost money and the Hal CEOís? They are laughing all the way the bank.

Don't worry, in a few months, GO becomes Aloha Airlines and the code share then becomes complete but wait, there's a twist to the story... Mesa and Orenstein still loses the company, Yucaipa takes over and guess what?

The Dog and Pony show is still going on... Orenestein has to do a lot of tap dancing in a tight credit market and the grim reaper, aka Yucaipa, is waiting for the fall. Yucaipa always wanted an airline, it's only a matter of time before they get one!
