Derry Township has 50 times more area and 10 times more population than Derry Boro without a police force. How do those township residents ever survive?

The only thing I've ever seen Derry PD do right is traffic stops. The Town is overrun with junkies and dealers, but I promise drive 40 MPH on 217 through town and You'll be seeing Bilik. They should cut the dead weight. Derry only really needs 3 full time cops and 2 or 3 part timers.

With only 3 full time and 2 or 3 part time police, you wouldn't have 24/7 coverage.

I was trying to estimate what DBPD would need for coverage and nothing more. Probably more accurate with 4 and 4 maybe? But you get the point.

why does a town this size, with 3-4 policemen need 3 vehicles, one of which Chief takes home to Latrobe everyday? How many taxpayers in Derry have a vehicle their employer pays for plus gas to go to work?

Surely the district could afford to hire security at a much lower rate than what they must be paying DBPD. Maybe someone should bring that up to a school board member?

District does have security.According to the wages that were printed in the newspaper two years ago they are paying him $25,000 per year! Not bad for 27 hour a week employee whos job it is to unlock and open road gates and check schools with expensive burglar alarms and cameras!Oh by the way,he is a School Board Members Husband! I had read the Derry police get paid to do traffic control in morning/afternoon at Grandview. After the cold weather came the cop/guard was no longer to be seen. Does the school really have to pay the police dept for a cop to be there sometimes or when the weather is nice?

yes, where are you Mo or council? where the hell was the chief at today? young officer had to take care of this. 911 needed dcnr to come check his well being. what has he done other than bad mouth the area? give us 1 good example why he needs to stay other than your afraid of a settlement for him taking care of the dog since precedence is set!

You are wrong on alot of your points. The chief was there. The investigation was handed over to the sgt and he filed charges not "the young one". DCNR was there but they sent all available cops since it was a shooting, DCNR included. Sorry but u don't know what really happened
