I viewed the auditions on cable TV, and I was amazed at what I saw. We might as well shut the thing down if that's all we have to choose from.
Sorry Mr. Burdette. There were a couple that can shine.

In all fairness, you really have to attend an actual show to get the full experience of Liberty Idol. Its not just the singing that makes it what it is. Its the whole feeling of community that surrounds it.Everyone having a good time, no alcohol or drugs involved and for the most part excellent behavior. I promise that you would find it much more appealing in person. There really is some great talent in this area and I think its wonderful for mr. costner and the city of Liberty to try to showcase it.

Been there, done that, live here.
The shop owners are getting a little tired of it now that the majority of attendees are young kids let loose on the town causing trouble.

Well I guess your mind is made up. I've been part of Liberty Idol for the last 4 years and I can only speak of my own experience. i do find it sad that the shop owners are growing weary of it since it was created to bring attention to their businesses in the first place. I guess that kind of proves that no matter what you do, someone somewhere is gonna have a problem with it. I still think the good outweighs the bad and hope to see this continue. If Liberty gets tired of it, call Pickens, Roy. I'm sure they would jump on the chance to have it in their backyard!

Made a comment about how the Judges were way to harsh on the contestants last night 6/26 on & they took it down within 15 minutes. These Judges have no musical background with the exception of 2 maybe 3. They were really nasty to most just has bad memories now, ears bleeding, couldn't wait for the screaming to stop, etc. Those were some of the nicer comments. A former NFL football player as a Judge? Where is his musical background? Please find Judges with qualified backgrounds to critique the contestants instead of just tearing them down, Simon Cowell you are not.
By the way, I made it thru to the next round, so I am not whining because of that.

Like the gooddoctor, I find some good and some sorry performances. One performer in particular seems to always win accolades no matter what she does as long as she wears the skirts and long legs. Much better performers without the sex appeal have fallen to the wayside. I thought this was a music performance contest, not a beauty pageant.
