Are you talking about a store like Stanfords? If so, Casey Co still dosent compare. Lincoln Co has atleast 10,000 more residents then Casey Co. When I said smaller I was talking about Pamida to Dollar General size.

I partially agree. If any of these companies really wanted to come here they would find a way to do it around the govt. On the other hand I dont think any of the officials would turn them away. The fact still is these franchises do plenty of research before they do anything. Ever notice the traffic counters on the bypass from time to time? Obvisiouly if any have considered Liberty they have determined that it would not be benefical to their business. It all comes down to money. Thats not crooked, its called smart business. If you compare Liberty to similar sized cities and counties they do have alot to offer. Garrard Co. Would be the closest comparison based on population of the city and Co. What does Garrard Co have to offer that isnt here? Alcohol? People want to believe the city and county officals control this. Its the companies that control this. Yes the city and county could offer incentives but there still has to be a strong customer base and profit potential for them to open. None of that is here. The govt can not do anything about that. Look at the franchise companies in the larger surrounding counties that have closed. Its tough economic times and everyone is trimming the fat. If these are the companies you are waiting for your best bet would be to move to a location that already offers them.

There's been talk about Walmart since before they went with the super stores. If it didn't happen when the stores were really small, in comparison, it isn't going to happen now. Liberty can't support one and the city council would never give them the incentives anyhow.

I really think you are talking apples and oranges. It takes far fewer customers to support a decent fast food place than a Walmart. Nobody is going to want to operate one at a loss. The kind of traffic pattern it would need just isn't there. Sorry!!!! Have a great weekend.

Yeah we just don't have the population here. Although I did hear about a video game store open in Liberty somewhere. I just have to figure out where it's at. Lol

The town don't even have a gas station that is open 24/7 It will never have a wal mart as long as population decreases. As soon as I can I'm moving all Liberty turned out to be was a bunch of dope addicts hanging out on the streets with no jobs no cars and no care but the next high.
