nothing impartial bout Brian Wright he definately will bend the truth and do whatever it takes to convict and make himself look good. we need someone to be a Judge, this person needs to apply the law, i think Judy Vance will be capable of this.

Brian Wright is just like Fred Capps was every one is guilty as charged regardless of what the evidence shows. With his attitude, and thinking he don't need to be a Circuit Judge.

Prosecutor And Suspect Are Killed
Published: June 06, 2000

A man charged with child molesting and the prosecutor who was about to try him were killed today in a wild gunfight at the prosecutor's home hours before they were to face each other in court.

The bodies of the prosecutor, Fred Capps, 46, a commonwealth's attorney in southern Kentucky, and the assailant, Eddie Vaughn, 49, were found inside Mr. Capps's home. Mr. Capps's wife and two children were in the house when Mr. Vaughn shot his way in shortly after 6 a.m.

Sgt. Mike Castle of the state police said Mr. Vaughn fired several shots from an assault rifle into Mr. Capps's home, then entered and continued shooting.

''There are dozens of shell casings and bullet fragments in the interior of the home,'' said a state police spokesman, Jerry Melton.

Mr. Capps's wife, Cathy, was in the same room with her husband at the time of the attack. Mr. Melton said they apparently were both awake when Mr. Vaughn arrived. Their children, ages 11 and 16, had been asleep in their bedrooms, he said.

A Town Torn Apart

By Bill Hewitt
In Rural Kentucky Beloved Prosecutor Fred Capps Dies While Defending His Family from the Local Bully

The men had known each other since early grade school and shared a special affinity for their hometown of Burkesville (pop. 1,800), a quiet treasure of a place set amid the splendor of Kentucky's Cumberland Mountains. But there the similarities ended between Fred Capps, 46, the town's popular prosecutor, and Eddie Vaughn, 49, a lifelong troublemaker with a violent temper. It wasn't that the two men were ever on a collision course, just that if their paths did cross, there was destined to be an explosion.

A Hatred Smoldering In the Hills

When two notoriously forceful personalities exist in the same small town, it's inevitable that one day they will clash. But no one expected the collision to lead to murder.
