I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems with their kids complaining of other kids on the bus smoking pot.
I have 2 kids in Casey Schools and they were comming home from school telling me that they smalled something funny on the bus, a type of smoke. My oldest said it smell like leaves. My youngest had no idea, but it hurt is eyes and head. My oldest happen to see 2 girls smoking pot in a pipe. He explained to me how they were smoking it and what the pipe looked like. And of corse they told him to shhhh, which scared him that if he told that they would have someone beat him up or something. I had to report this 3 times to the bus garage and to the principle before anything was done. And so far only 1 of the 2 kids were removed from the bus. The other one still rides. But aparently doesn't smoke alone. This really bothers me. I've tried to teach my kids to stay away from this, and let me know if it happens again. But I worry that every day they will come home and tell me this again. Has anyone else had this problem?

I haven't heard anything about pot but i met a school bus about a month ago and a kid threw a pencil out the window into my window. It bounced off of the top of the door and hit me in the side of the head while we met on a little side road. Just about caused me to wreck, i called the bus garage and reported it like you did and nothing was ever done. They could care less, now when i meet a bus i don't even bother to give it the right of way or anything. If they don't care what their kids are doing, i don't care about giving them the right of way. I know a bus driver can keep his kids in check cause when i went to school nobody acted up on the bus for fear of the mighty paddle. They need to bring that back soon.

I ride the bus when I was in school those cameras are junk and any 8 year old now they do have x ray vision and cant see you if your down behind the seat. You all need to realize that your kids are smarter than you think, When I rode the bus there wasnt any pot smoking but a lot of cigs got smoked.

I Can't believe that some people think this isn't true. Why would I lie about it. I don't smoke pot, not even cigarettes, my son came home very shaken up about this. The ones that say this is rediculas is probably the ones that think their kids don't do anything wrong. That is probably your kids smoking the pot. And if it isn't true then why was the kid expelled off the bus. This is not a joke nor is it meant to be funny. This bothers me and it should bother you. Why would my child that has no clue what pot is, (because he is too young) tell me that he smelled a funny smell, of smoke on the bus. My child is smart, and knows that is wasn't a cigarette. Even still they shouldn't be smoking cigarettes on the bus either. My goodness I have to explain something to my child that they are way to young to even have to worry about. Cameras or not this happened 3 times. I can't imagine my child would tell me this if they were the ones doing it. duuhhh. My child is far from perfect, but that just would not make sence. ( Hey mom kids are smoking pot on the bus. OOps its me.) How stupid... Kids are not the dumb. But aparently some parents are.

um I think you misunderstood me I was taking up for you buy saying stuff happens all the time on buses, and I did not say they you were under estimating your kids knowledge and was not saying that your kid was doing anything wrong, I just want to make that clear before there is any confusion that gets everyone here pissed at me and talkin trash about me. But I will say this kids will do what they want on the bus and 9 out of 10 times nobody notices that it goes on. Except the other kids on the bus.

Everything goes on(on) the bus.Sex,drugs, and whatever some kids know how to get by with it.I know a bus driver, and he said its very hard to watch them all. They need bus monitors on all the busses.Lots of Bullying and fights, that go unreported.Because of fear.Because some kds have to ride the bus,no other eway to school. So i think more Bus monitors and problem solved.Screened ones by the way.

i am sure there is alot of bullying that happens on the bus best thing to do is provide your own transportation if you can this way you wont have to worrie about if the driver of the bus will get your kids to school safe or passout while driving personally i think they should install breathalizers on all busses thats what some states do to people who have prior dui convictions remember the price to install them isnt the issue here the safety of our children and everyone elses children is the issue they should also have monitors

I sure hope you have brought this to the attention of the parents of the accused. If your children are telling the truth maybe there is time to save these young kids from the menace of drug abuse. Please get involved more. It takes a village to raise a child.

My child also rides the bus and there are many things that go on that no one would ever imagine. There is lots of bullying and lots of smoking. My child has to ride the bus, I have no other option right now. I do believe that we need bus monitors for every bus. Someone commented that if you were worried about your child to take them off the bus. I pay school taxes and it is the schools responsibility that our children are in the best of care. I hope that someone can convience the school system that bus monitors are needed before someone gets hurt.
