I was wondering if anyone has used them for a wedding. How is their work?? Also how is the florist that is associated with this business. I think it is called Casey Co. Florist. I am getting married next year and would really like to know about this place before I book them. Thanks

we had them do a dinner for us one time. It was about 10 bucks a plate and what was left over they took back with them, even though we had already payed for it in advance! It wasn't bad food, but it was all that great either.

I recently used Schafer's Catering for my mother's 80th birthday celebration. We (my brother and sister) were very pleased with thier services. The tables were beautiful, the flower arangements were beautiful, the food presentation was well done, the foods we chose were delicious, the consistency and temperatures of the food were correct and the servers were professional and on the ball. The food that was left over was packaged by the servers and given to us. The servers cleaned, packed and loaded everything. We did not have to do anything. We were very pleased. We paid about $10 per person, but it was worth every penny. Oh, all of our guests were very complimentary of them as well. My sister said that she attended a wedding in Somerset which Schafer's catered and it was all done nicely, with the exception of the cake. She said the cake was pretty, but it tasted terrible.

THE LATEST TREND IN WEDDINGS IS TO HAVE A FANCY CAKE THAT IS FOAM WITH REGULAR DECORAVE ICING...THE GUESTS ARE SERVED CAKE THAT IS BAKED FRESH...THE REASON IS THAT LARGE WEDDING CAKES MUST BE MADE DAYS IN ADVANCE AND GET STALE...

They are wonderful. The food is always delicious and the tables arranged beautifully for the occasion. And we have been allowed to take home the extra food. Just take your own containers. Would highly recommend.

I would def not suggest emma's. Not for a wedding at least! When we had Schafers to our thing they hadn't been doing it very long. Maybe they have gotten better... I would definately check around a lot though.

Excellent food however very over priced. The florist also worked with the caterer and charged over the top as well. The biggest disappointment was all the left over food that we paid for was not given to us but to their employees. They also took my cake which was made from another vendor. Very disappointed and upset that we paid over 5000 for food and we couldn't even take what was left home to feed our families that have traveled for our wedding. I do not recommend this caterer to anyone!!!

$10 per plate is a BARGAIN per-plate for catering today. In fact, I can't believe any caterer can stay in business for that price. Believe me, you won't do better. Meanwhile, it is also standard practice for caterers to take food back with them (something about serving food in place, keeping it hot, etc. and the risk for food contamination and liability: like they could get sued if someone ate their food later because it had sat out too long and then was reheated or improperly stored). However, if you insist on keeping the food, let them know in advance or while negotiating your contract. Most caterers or cake makers will also let you sample their food before you sign them up (for a large event, especially).

We paid 17.95 per plate for 140 people. The food was out for an hour. The facility had refrigerators and proper containers to store the left over food. We asked Schafer's caterers that since we PAID for the food that we wanted to take it home. They packed everything up towards the end of the reception which lasted about an hour and half due to late wedding ceremony and storm coming through the area and also took the rest of our cake which we didn't even order from them! They stole my cake and the rest of the food that we paid for! How is that possible for a business owner to steal people's food that they paid for and still be in business? I personally talked with the owner. She was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and completely disregarded the issue. She said sorry about your luck and hung up the phone after a lengthy conversation which led her to make up exuses of her employees poor judgement. The way she handled the situation is not only infuriating but disgusting!!! DO NOT PAY these CROOKS!!! Find someone that will be wonderful and trustworthy. Karen Schafer is nothing but a crook!
