A friend recommended Donald Thomas for child custody battle. Says he is a good guy but, I need to know if he is good attorney. My ex-husband lives out of state and is trying to get joint custody after a year. Please help. I live in Liberty now but I don't know any attorneys. Any suggestions would help. THANKS.

Sam, I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you but am curious why you feel this way. Please tell more about your experience. I've seen Dunn be very professional and polite but wonder if he is aggressive enough to fight for his clients and their kids. If you want, be vague enough to conceal who you are but give more facts here. Dunn is frustratingly slow, but so is our legal system. The end result is what matters.
Your opinion and experience is important to people here. Just saying "He was my ex's atty and she got the kids" doesn't cut it. Which judge and what circumstances?

He will not appeal a case to the higher sourts, ask him how many cases he has appealed,or when was the last time he took a case to trial by jury. The judge 90% of the time will give the mother custody of the kids,so she had you behind the eight ball from the beginning.

Dunn is not a fighter. He is too slow and laid back.never gets excited about things he should. In my oppinion. I would get Lavit from Lebanon. He will at least fight.I may have spelled his name wrong..Its ted Lavitz or the other..Good luck..i went through this same crap! Hope the kids end up in the best home.Anybody would beat the attorneys here in liberty.Call Danville also.

Mr. Thomas helped my husband get his son. It did take a while but he did get the child.

Dunn represented me for a guardianship case. Filed us in wrong court then was thrown out cause protocol wasn't followed. Cost close to $1000 too. Got David McAnnely and case was complete in less than 3 weeks!

with you being the mother he would have to prove you unfit in order to try and take the children.. make sure you have a clean home and system(be able to take and pass a drug test at any time) thomas seems to be good just stand your ground with any attorney. have some good references on hand that see you with your children and know how you are. facts stand out! how old are the children if you dont mind me asking?

Bear in mind there are certain obstacles you have to prove or qualify for in order to even be seen by a judge, much less win in custody or other reasons, and if an Attorney doesn't believe you meet these things, then ethically he or she should tell you and not take your money and put on a show that they know the cannot win, its not about "Fighting" for you or your kids, its what they can prove or disprove and not waste ALOT of your hard earned money. I will say out of experience that Donald Thomas correctly counseled me in a child custody case I was involved in and wouldn't just take my money and I get nothing from it.

Dunn will not fight for you, he will sit back and wonder what happened in court and then want more money...will tell you that the judge does not like you or someone in your family and things are not going to go your way...stay away from him...good luck...Thomas and McAnnely are both good

Gregg Dunn is a sorry ass Lawer. He will take your money and run straight to Tommy Weddle,or Brian Wright, and make a deal where you will haft to plead guilty to something. Then he will tell you he needs more money to get you a better deal. Then after getting your money you will still get screwed.I know from experince, after being out $5000.00 dollars.

Ain't that the truth!Alot of the time neither parent is fit, then what's the judge to do? I feel so sorry for kids these days.It is pitiful what they go through because their parents couldn't stick to the commitment of marriage.I am divorced myself and I HATE what it did to my babies,so don't think I am just judging I failed myself to.We need to worry more about what is right instead of what is EASY!!!
