HA HA ! Lock him up . He should have called the humane society or the animal shelter or a vet . He knew better . The law is the law . His father breaks the law every day . Isn't he the one that sells drugs ? He committed a crime , that is clear . He admits it . Cops always think they are above the law . Make an example out of him . More charges should follow . Who else knew the exact date that the deer was to be euthanized besides them ? Who had access to that pen ? Tampering , criminal confinement , abuse of authority , false imprisonment , practicing veterinary medicine without a license , I could go on and on . He has proven himself to be irresponsible and a criminal .Book him Dan-O

I know farmer who did the samething when a baby dear was hurt in their field nursed the baby deer back to life..So would you rather him to shot the deer when he go the call about this deer.. I hope Peta gets behind this and charges get dropped.. People who poch deer don't get jail time.. But people who resuce get jail time.. Really this is a waste of tax payer money and time..

Most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! These people were trying to help this baby deer. The justice system is so f'd up that good people are now being drug thru the mud.

Call the prosecutor's office and protest this stupidity.

Although I agree this is a complete waste of tax payers money, you get what you give. Perhaps if he hadn't abused his power as a cop the DNR wouldn't be coming after him. Kinda makes you think he pissed off the wrong person huh?

southeasternoutdoors.com/wildl ife/rehabilitators/indiana this is where the deer should have went. dont call the prosecutor call the law makers. untill the laws are changed he broke the law bottom line. as an officer he should know better and know hes not above the law. if he really wanted to help this deer he would have sent it to the lnaiana wildlife rescue..that way the deer could have got the care it needs and released back to the wild.

Maybe you should read the article before you open your mouth! They did try to get wildlife rescue to take the deer and they said they were to full.

dnr got their toes stepped on cause the deer got away...... they were goin to shoot this deer with a shotgun... there is something bad wrong with this... how could anybody stand there a point a gun at something that is not goin to run cause its not afraid? animals get released back into the wild all the time after human contact.

There are two sides to every story. Jeff IS a crooked POS and I hope he gets what he deserves. And before you spout off about me, you should know that I'm a police officer that works with Jeff. The powers that be have wanted you gone for YEARS. DNR is doing us a favor!

southeasternoutdoors.com/wildl ife/rehabilitators/indiana... this is who jeff should have called . what kind of example did jeff just set for our youth? if your an law officer you dont have to get the permitts to do things the right way.. even worst now he his involed he wife in this. im sorry but being a nurse dose not make you a vet...this is why we have laws that protect indiana wildlife. this keeps people who thinks it cool to have a pet deer from doing so. the courts should set the example being an officer dose not make you above the law...if jeff and his wife want to start an wildlife recue with the right training an premitts i would support them 100%. but this is not the case.

I'm sorry but this is absolutely ridiculous! For those of you saying he got what he deserve, you are just plain stupid. This whole justice system is jacked. I mean real criminals are getting out of jail so they can continue to do drugs and snitch on people and some people who should be busted never get busted. But a man rescues a freaking deer and he should be prosecuted????? What the heck is this world coming to? I will stand 100% behind Jeff and his wife!

so are we going to throw all the laws out the window that are set up to protect indiana wildlife? bottom line your buddy broke the law and now its time to pay for that..this is price you pay when you think it cool to have a pet deer...
