I recieved an email from the Postal Service. It stated I had an undeliverable package and I needed to click a link to print a label/form and take it to the post office to retrieve my package. I had nothing coming and I never open any attachments so I deleted it and didn't give it a thought. A couple hours later a friend gets ahold of me and asks if I got the package he sent me. I hadn't and it got me thinking about the email. I went to the post office and explained what had went on. The lady at the post office looked around and then come out with a notice stating that there is an email virus being spread by having people click a link in an email from the postal service. If you get an email from the USPS with an attachment don't open it. It can cause serious problems to your computer.

ups and fedex are also having similar scam problems. For the most part these businesses will leave notices at your door, if there is a problem with any packages that are to be delivered at your homes.

The USPS DOES NOT CONTACT YOU BY E-MAIL UNLESS YOU SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED THEM TO AT YOUR LOCAL POST OFFICE CONCERNING THE DELIVERY OF PACKAGES. This is why you have a mail box.

I have also received this E-mail. Since we send and receive packages frequently, I opened the mail. I recognized it as a scam when they asked for money, but didn't know where to send it for investigation. My name was not listed in the address "to" box.

MY MESSAGE BACK TO THEM!!

If this is indeed the real FBI which i have multiple reasons to believe that it is not, I have no idea what you are talking about! I am an American citizen that has never left the country of the United States of America and am about to be in law of this beautiful country myself. I will pursue legal action for harassment if these implications and emails do not stop. To the full power of my knowledge, the FBI would not send an email to a subject not knowing whether or not this is in fact the person in questions real email! So please refrain from sending me anymore emails. If this is indeed the FBI send me this in the mail with the FBI seal on it so that i know that it is in fact an authentic and real situation. Otherwise i will not think this is real and it is in fact not a professional act of contacting someone! I have had no contact nor have i ever heard of this Nigerian bank in question! Please Investigate further, like you say you are the FBI find out the truth instead of bringing on legal action against yourselves!

Kindest Regards,

I received this same email over the weekend. I didn't open the attachment, however, this morning I received a phone call on my cell advising me that I needed to follow up on the package so that I could receive my $150,000 prize. Right... How did they get both my email and my phone number. Yuck.

I've received loads of those scam emails. Sometimes the sender address gives them away as the scams they are, eg. "[email protected]" , USPS/UPS would not have such an email address.

Also, if you haven't given these services your email address, they have no business sending you an email and shouldn't even have knowledge that it's your email address any way, whether you're expecting/sent off a package or not. No moreso than a stranger off the street would know it's your email address. Even if you do have an online account with one of the mail/parcel services, don't click on any links in the email or provide the sender with any personal info. Go directly to your service website, login as you normally would, and check out the situation from there
